Blood and bullet holes at the crime scene, sadly.

Bit confused that the Mardi Gras committee has rescinded their invite to the police force to march in the parade. The dead guys were gay, the murderer was gay. It wasn't a gay hate crime like the police used to perpetrate back in the 90s,

The move to fuck the police right out of Mardi Gras has been there for years.

Pride started as a protest. Police brutally bashed and arrested people at the first Mardis Gras. There are many people for whom having police marching in uniform is a massive trigger after decades of police abuse and failure to investigate hate crimes and murders of LGBTQ folk.

I'd write more about this but I suggest you do the work yourself to understand why having cops marching at Pride events is deeply controversial.

Yeah, that's a valid point, I'm just saying that both sides are reaching out and trying to heal old wounds, this has thrown a wrench in the works. have been trying to fix this for years, especially some of the police. And it seems to be more a jealous lover incident than a police brutality incident.

38 days without rain in South Australia and yesterday was the start of a 4 day heatwave 40 degrees outside and poor old aircon can't cope.

Caused by a high pressure system in the gulf that won't budge.

I don't have the statistics at hand but I think that's some kind of record for days without rainfall

Not sure. Is there any forecasted. I know that Melbourne is likely to get some in the next few days. It's been hot here also. Sick of it. Went out yesterday for a short walk - but only lasted 5 minutes or so. But the exercise helped my foot (been dealing with some foot pain - as I pulled a muscle under the foot). Rather painful.

Right now 37.4

Yes but seriously why even suggest this?

In the article, he seems to think it would be a major tourist attraction, so maybe because they think it will bring an influx of extra tourist dollars into the area, in addition to bringing a little joy to the lives of their constituents? When the opposition leader talks that enthusiastically about a government proposal, it must at least be a somewhat good idea.

NGL, I wish some of our provincial premiers would spend more time thinking about giant chocolate fountains, and less time about undermining the national carbon pricing program, trying to steal the majority of the national pension fund, developing on protected green spaces, stacking the courts with conservative judges, making lives miserable for trans kids, and suppressing minority religious and language rights.

But 12 million dollars im the middle of a housing crisis, underfunded hospitals and others it just feels irresponsible. Oh and yed I did read the article.
