I told Centrelink in May last year that I believed that my son had been overpaid by about $500. The guy at Centrelink agreed with me but said that the money could not be repaid until a debt notice is issued and that due to covid no debt notices are being issued at the moment and that we will have to wait to repay the money.

I bet we will get a nasty letter demanding my son pay it back yet they allow these rich companies to keep money they were never entitled to.

Now they (and the ATO) are telling me I owe them thousands! Granted the initial amount involved was thousands, not hundreds, but they specifically said don't worry about it. I'm going to fight this! This is the kind of chaos robodebt has caused! Not just for us but thousands of others.

There are many reasons to withdraw consent such as you are feeling pain, or fear or the other person wants to do something you would not consent to. Or you simply want to stop without any particular reason. Also a person could be forced into giving ‘consent’ on the app.

speaking of Australians in Canada, there was a post on a transit forum of a QANTAS 787 into Vancouver for repatriation flight and it came as a suprise to some that such flights were still taking place at this late stage.

Though a friend of mum's is still waiting for her husband to be able to return. He was working the UK when the boarders were closed and hasn't been able to get a return flight.

And my stepmother is moving back the Australia after decades in the U.S but doesn't seem to have had as much trouble getting back.
