Do you have uber in Tassie @Miss Chicken ? I took one today for the minimum distance which cost about 8.12. I loaded up a TON of very heavy things including about 15kg of rice and felt I was really getting my money's worth.

Also having read about how WA is freezing all utility bills and car rego etc.. I stupidly thought this meant people would not have to pay bills for a season as a way of helping us out when so many are suddenly unemployed. But no it only means the government is graciously not raising the bills for a year. Wtf.
We have Uber but I have never used it. I have trouble physically doing a big shop. I can’t raise my arms enough to get anything off the top shelf or bend to get anything off the bottom shelf. Standing in line is a strain, and I don’t like packing stuff at a self serve because I have to try and do it with one arm when my left shoulder is really bad. I also have arthritis in some of my fingers which can make pushing a trolley difficult. I rather just let a Coles worker do it all for me.
I also thought that the freeze was people not having to pay the bills (like in Italy) and I don’t think the WA government is being very generous at all.

Managed to get some TP from Aldi; we were low, so that was good, but you still imagine people judging you...
We'll get the stimulus on 31/3. Why? So it's spent in the 2nd quarter, because remember guys and gals, two quarters of negative growth means a Recession, from those good ol' Best Economic Managers (the greatest crock the LNP ever sold). Too tired to be angry right now.

I think I have been lucky in that I had a good stock to begin with. I always have plenty of tuna in my cupboard so I did not have to buy any.
Early on I tried to work out what might became scarce and what the alternatives were. I bought applesauce and flaxseed meal to use as binders if I run out of eggs, I found out how you go about freezing eggs so now I have 8 frozen eggs in my freezer.
I have several packets of Easiyo and enough flour to make 2 ingredient dough to use as bread in soups. If I run out of yougurt I plan to make damper for soup.

I hope that after this is all over Australians would have learned the necessity of keeping a stockpile especially of cheap, long lasting products such as pasta, rice, tinned tomatoes, rolled oats, tinned or powdered milk, tuna, stock cubes, tinned or packet lentils, tinned beans and spaghetti etc A family can get a good stock up on $5 to $10 a fortnight.

I've spent three days shopping for quite a few people in differing households. Am I done? I thought so but who knows. I have taken at least 8 ubers in the last few days! Ah well. I worry about people too much and offer too much, honestly I am the most likely to die!! I've always had a good stockpile of stuff in my home. I just added to it with 10kg of rice and some other stuff, I could exist here for a long long time.

I have an upright freezer it it has two shelves full of frozen vegetables mainly the cheap mixed vegetable packets plus peas, and some corn. I have not bought any frozen vegetables since the panic started.
Can't go wrong with frozen veggies.
I was talking to someone the other day who watched - and counted - in amazement as the bloke in front of him at the Woolies checkout loaded 32 tins of tomatoes onto the conveyor. 
The checkout operator scanned two tins and put the rest into a trolley to go back onto the shelves. At least the idiot didn't assault the checkout person, I suppose. I have a mate who works there and she told me the level of abuse she's received since this nonsense started is "no more than usual". Unreal.
People really need to get over themselves. Nearly everyone managed to act like an adult through the fire nightmare and here we are a few weeks later, watching people assault each other over dunny paper. It could almost be amusing if it wasn't so damned pathetic. And people are prancing around on Bondi beach as though none of this is even happening. Imbeciles.

At my local Woolies, where the behaviour has generally been good, a man emptied a carton of milk over a cashier, when he was told he could only buy two cartons. He has now been banned from the store.

My plan is to pretty much self-isolate myself. I know the lockdown will be happening here in Victoria. I'm having an eye test tomorrow, so I find out if Specsavers will still be open afterwards. Not sure. Planning on buying some more exercise equipment, so I can get fitter during that time.
I'm guessing choir practice is off tomorrow. I normally go to the library to write but I'm going to stay home, now I have a more comfortable chair. My son, who is immuno-compromised, is already locked down. My flatmate has breathing difficulties normally, so this could be fatal for her, and my other son and fam may need extra babysitting assistance, so I have to stay healthy. I have much to write and watch and read, so it'll be fine.
