Something similar happened here, there was student gynaecology who assaulted a woman, but he did not get a punishment because he was "young and talented"

My view on this sort of thing is that if a judge decides to be lenient for whatever reason they think appropriate, then if the guilty party re offends then the judge should be charged with aiding and abetting or something similar.
