Turnbull has decided that digging his heels in and going ahead with the tax cuts is a winning idea.
There's no provision to boot the NSW ALP MP out of parliament (though she can be punted from the party) for her sexual misconduct but if she jumps ship it will be a very closely watched bi-election. she's in a margin seat (iirc it's around 1%). If the ALP were to hold I think you could kiss good by to any early election and turnbull's thin ice would get even thinner.

After years of opposing the idea, the federal treasure is now looking at scrapping the 'tampon tax".

I just heard on radio that Dutton hasn't ruled out another challenge. Julie Bishop is staying on as deputy.

I think the damage to the Liberals is irreparable, now. If the Coalition goes to the election with Dutton as PM, and they lose, I doubt very much that Labor wouldn't immediately refer Dutton to the High Court, under Section 44. It could bring about a by-election, and the seat is not very safe.
