The Down Under Lounge

Well, that worked so well for Rudd...

True.... But compared to US politics Aus Politics is rather tame and boring. But I think we should talk about our local stuff. I just don't know what to say sometimes about our conservatives. I know Abbott did have a massive hard on for the Tea Party and liked them a lot. But with this current lot I don't know what to say.

I just hope Adani doesn't fuck up the Barrier Reef

One of the heads at ANZ they'd never back Adani. Whether that actually happens we'll have to wait and see.

Well money talks, depends how much money Adani wants to throw around.. But they are building that railway which is kind of controversial, which I think heads to the coast near the reef...

In related news...

India has released a new power plan promoting a dramatic increase in renewable energy and raising doubts about the Indian-owned Adani Group's massive coal mine in Queensland.
Key points:
  • The plan says no need for additional coal fired energy capacity in next decade
  • Six-fold rise in energy from renewable sources key part of national electricity plan
  • Josh Frydenberg said the Adani mine had to go ahead because India desperately needed it for energy

Both the Australian Christian Lobby and Reclaim Australia were quick to claim that the van that exploded outside the ACL offices was a terrorist attack. However it looks like it was an accident. Are the Reclaim lot going to apologise for suggesting that the seriously burned driver should be shot?

Back in 2003 my father drove his car through the front window of Hobart Pathology. He did $30,000 worth of damage. Luckily my dad was not a Muslim so no-one accused him of doing it on purpose.

Yikes!!!!!!!!!!

What is wrong with these people?

Aren't the Reclaim Australia nutters just disorganised racists?

They want to be attacked, it would validate all their bullshit stands in their eyes.

Really they are mostly ignored and that must piss 'em off a fair bit.

Yes. All those idiot racist groups keep splintering and fighting with each other, as well as getting arrested for shit.

Yes I remember seeing that lot on TV around Australia Day and they were punching other groups that were also like them. They looked like rabble.

Our own deplorables
