The Down Under Lounge

I have only gone to MacDonalds once in my life about 15 years ago. Decided that my local fish and chip shop made far better hamburgers so never went back to Maccas.

There is nothing quite as good as the bacon and egg mcmuffin consumed at a far too early hour at a train station or airport while waiting to board something.

Normal winter's day in Hobart. Overcast 6C, high of 15C predicted.

The last time Hobart had settling snow at sea level was in 1987,I would like to see snow again.

I had to explain that a percentage of our population like Tony Abbott. It's embarrassing.

It is really strange, No-one I know has admitted to voting LNP last election.

Same here. I can't find anyone who will say publicly that they voted for him.

Check out this

Huh?

Could it be more obvious he is in the pocket of coal mining companies?

I know only one person who admitted to voting for Abbott. He regrets it now and probably won't next time.

Life has been throwing me all sorts of curve balls, as our American cousins would say. I will be back on deck in a month or two.

I must bring Northern/Southern rivilaries up and say that the two southern electorates which both take in parts of Hobart did not return Liberals. Franklin (which I belong to) ended up with a Labor member and Denison an independent. The other three (Bass, Brasdon and Lyons) do have a Liberal member.

We seem to have a government that doesn't act like it holds to the values of democracy.

Every time the media criticize them they throw a tantrum. What kind of democracy is this when you are threatened to only show a pro government POV?
