The Defenders--Marvel/Netflix

The trailer has them at odds but Cage and Danny are going to be best buds in no time. It's kinda comical to see this troupe again in the MCU. They did that in the first Avengers and Guardians already.
In this case it actually makes sense because they are from completely different backgrounds.

During the red carpet for the MTV Movie & TV Awards Mike Coulter revealed that the Defenders villain will be connected to all of the previous Netflix series. I'm especially curious how that applies to Jessica Jones and Luke Cage since there were no obvious connections there.

Wasn't Kilgrave empowered by the experiments that Riva had the information on in JJ, which turned out in LC to be the same experiments that gave Luke his powers? Maybe those are connected to the Hand, or to Sigourney Weaver's character. For that matter, the accident that gave Jessica her powers still hasn't been explained.

Only thing I didn't like about the trailer was the voiceover by "Stick", really didn't like that character, and the presence of the very annoying, Danny Rand. Hope neither are going to have much screen time in the series. Otherwise, this looks just great.

Oh right, I forgot about all of the stuff with the experiments with Luke and Kilgrave. Weaver's character does appear to be either a CEO or government official of some sort, so I could see her being behind all of that.
I'm wondering if there is anything significant to the fact that Mike Coulter kept talking about an "entity" rather than a person. I think that could be read as more evidence that they are dealing with some kind of demonic force.

"Entity" basically just means "that which exists," so it's about as generic a term as you can get. It's essentially just a fancier-sounding synonym for "thing." It gets used for any distinct unit that isn't a person, e.g. "business entity" (like a company) or "criminal entity" (like the mob). So he could be talking about a corporation, or the Hand, or a cabal of mad scientists, or any group larger than one person.

Wasn't it implied through the file that Trish's mom supplied that Jessica's powers were connected to that as well?

Maybe all of the experiments will tie into the whole Black Sky thing and whatever is in the hole from DD Season 2?
If my theory about The Beast of The Hand and or/ the theories about Mephisto are correct, then maybe all of this has been to try to find a host for them or to create an enhanced person who can survive being possessed.

...and the presence of the very annoying, Danny Rand...
I really don't get the Danny Rand hate. I liked Iron Fist, and can think of far more annoying actors in the MCU.

Terrance Howard comes to mind. That scene of him calling for Tony is like fingers on a chalkboard (around 2:04)

I'm still amused thinking that the dark and gritty world of the Defenders shares the same universe as the colorful world(s) of the Guardians of the Galaxy..

Well, you know, GOTG Vol. 2 probably has the highest number of...
people MURDERED ON SCREEN!

Really, which MCU movie can boast of this?

I would say Avengers has them topped. Buildings were toppled.

Yes, but you don't see them die. But in GOTG2 Yondu massacres his ex-crew, and you see almost every single death. Really, the Punisher has a lower body count!

Well I meant the visual style...but yea their are far more on screen deaths (some gruesome) on GOTG then on the Netflix's MCU shows.

But it is similar to the comics is it not? The Punisher and Blade live in the same universe as Squirrel Girl.
