The Defenders--Marvel/Netflix

Okay, now I totally want to see a show about an invulnerable hero whose power is baking and decorating cakes. He could call himself... the Flour Man. He could have a team-up with stir-crazy Rip Hunter!
That's why you're a writer, I just imagine Luke's fat brother.

I'd gladly settle for Moon Knight.
I'd definitely been down for that. I've only read a handful of stories of his, when he crossed over with Spider-Man in the early 90's, but I was always interested in learning more about the character.

Well, that's one hell of a typo (I don't know how I did that...), but I glad you made good use of it.

Just think... it could just as easily have been Luge Cage, an indestructible man who pursues criminals by sliding downhill on a very small sled.

Here is a new, very brief, teaser trailer immediately followed by the previous teaser. The new material can be consider vaguely spoilerish to those who have seen Daredevil season 2, or have absolutely no knowledge of the source material.

So this isn't a remake of the old E G Marshall/Robert Reed series?

I suspect that scene wouldn't be spoilerish if you haven't seen DD Season 2, it would just be confusing absent any context.

That was really good. I'm excited, I think its going to be great (even if I'm not a fan of the Netflix Jessica Jones or Iron Fist).

Sooo good! I can't wait! :D

"You look like an idiot."
"It's your scarf."

The banter is already strong between them and I hope that's only the tip of the iceberg.

Looks like the Luke Cage in prison issue is quickly resolved, with or without that file found at the end of his series.

Well, we got to see Matt and Jessica's first meeting, and Luke and Danny's first meeting, but when do we get to see Misty and Colleen's first meeting?
They can't show everything in the trailer. Have to leave some of it for the show itself. ;)

A few of things I noticed while watching it again:

Elektra is seen in the background during the hallway scene, walking up towards the group as their fighting henchmen. Is sneaking up as a surprise attack or is she fighting with them? I'm incline to think it's early on in the show considering Matt's de facto mask (excuse me, Jessica's scarf), meaning she's a surprise attack.

"The more connections you have, the easier it will be to break you." I think that will play directly into everyone's supporting casts and why they're all part of the show (instead of just focusing on the four).

We see more evidence of someone with significant telekinetic powers, but the trailer is very careful not to show who it is. Even pausing at each frame of the sequence doesn't reveal anything more than the fact that The Stick is also there (although it doesn't show him getting tossed aside, too). Maybe a coincidence, but the trailer cuts directly to the introduction to Sigourney Weaver's character.

Speaking of which, does anyone believe that Weaver's character is actually new or think that's just a PR cover?

Interesting how Danny's Iron Fist can penetrate Luke's unbreakable skin. Is that from the comics? Doesn't appear to cause any lasting harm, otherwise I don't think Claire would be able to keep Luke pounding Danny to death.

When I saw Sigourney Weaver in the trailer, my thought was, "That should be Madame Gao instead." Wai Ching Ho was awesome as Gao in Iron Fist, and it seems to me that this should be the culmination of her story arc throughout the Netflix shows.

That was a fun trailer, looking forward to it.

I certainly hope this brings the whole Hand subplot to some sort of conclusion, Iron Fist really taxed my patience with the Hand, their whole being vague for the sake of being vague thing was already old in Daredevil.

The rumors, for ages, have been that she's playing a gender-bent Mephisto.

All that trailer showed me is that Marvel got so incredibly lucky with Charlie Cox and Mike Colter and holy shit how did they whiff so hard on Finn Jones.

I feel the same way. Hopefully Madame Gao will be involved in some way, but I agree she should've been in the forefront of the storyline. I guess Netflix and/or the producers wanted a big name to headline against the team.

Yeah, same here. Hopefully the Hand storyline wraps up here, which will lead into Heroes for Hire and/or Daughters of the Dragon, and will allow Daredevil to focus on different storylines such as Bullseye and more Kingpin.

Ah, I hadn't heard that before. That would be a nice twist and would also explain why Madame Gao isn't the leading villain.

So true, although I think Krysten Ritter is also a major win for them.

I'm thinking she's going to be somebody from the comics. It just seems unlikely to me that they wouldn't use a comics character for such a big role.

There is no mention of Wai Ching Ho in IMDb's cast list for The Defenders or any other source I've come across. If she's going to be in it, they're effectively keeping it secret.

Absolutely. I'd say Ritter and Colter are the strongest of the four leads. Cox is okay, but not amazing. Jones isn't bad as an actor, but he had a poorly conceived character to work with, and he failed to receive adequate martial-arts training for the part (which I blame the producers for more than him, since lots of productions have provided such training to cast members who lacked it before).
