Well it looks like O-State is going to win at Manhattan despite the loss of Blackmon and of Blackmon's back up, Hubert Anyam, due to a foot injury--not at all a good thing because the safeties can concentrate on Kendall Hunter. Still, I am not pleased. O-State's defense has committed an ABSURD number of penalties. Two personal fouls on this last drive alone to give K-State 30 yards on a drive that should have been long dead. K-State should'nt even be in the game but they just scored to put it at 24-14.
There was a roughing the passer penalty called on OSU during K-State's last drive and there've been holding calls out the wazoo. O-State coughed up the ball early deep in their own territory, which led to the first K-State touchdown. These two personal fouls helped K-State get their second. Also, O-State special teams got called for clipping when K-State punted earlier. The roughing the passer penalty kept that K-State drive alive until K-State's place kicker choked and missed an easy chip shot field goal. How lucky can O-State be?
I'll forgive the offense one fumble since it's in total disarray without Blackmon and Anyam, but the special teams and defense have GOT to be more disciplined than that. Roughing the passer, facemask and two late hit penalties on the defense today. Terrible, terrible, TERRIBLE. If they commit those kind of penalties against a team that isn't as totally inept as K-State (i.e. Baylor, Texas, Oklahoma) they'll get buried.
O-State's special teams just fumbled on the kickoff after the K-State touchdown! Dammit!!
Fortunately, blessed, unbelievably, K-State was offsides when it kicked off. See what I mean? If K-State didn't completely and totally suck, O-State would have been done today.
