The best episode of ENT - Final Part

The Andorian Incident - 2
Proving Ground - 0
Damage - 0
The Forge - 0
United - 0

I'm going to risk upsetting Shranites everywhere by saying Andorian Incident too. I still think Broken Bow is the best thing in Season One. Here we see Scott Bakula allowing Archer to become a punching bag for the first time and that just went on, and on... at the expense of his character. Beyond that, it's a good episode with some pre-Federation politics that built throughout the whole series, and there's even a bit of ENT getting laughs with some success. Then again, only because Archer's getting beat up ain't it?

United - I like season blue agatated Andorians better than season 4 ship controlling Andorians.

Proving Ground - as much as I love Shran, this is easily the weakest left. I also don't think it's the strongest of Season Three, to be honest.

What Admiral Shran said.

What they said. Taking out Proving Ground.

Again with The Andorian Incident. Much preferred JA getting his own back in United's duel "to the death", if I'm honest.

Looks like you got ninja'd again, JiNX.
 What did I do now?

Ninja'd just means that two people quote the same post around the same time. They each edit the post and cast their vote. The first submission goes up as normal. The second person that submits their vote wipes out the first person because they quoted the post above which did not include the first responder's vote.

That is how you get ninja'd and it is no one's fault. It just happens sometimes.

Time for The Andorian Incident to go. Sorry, Shran, but the other three are just that good.

And go it shall...

I always get to be the one to kill episodes. :rommie:

I've noticed a problem with this system. Resetting the ability to vote after a episode is removed has resulted in the same 4-5 people (including me) getting to vote over and over while people who are sleeping or working without internet access miss out.

I've stopped playing because I apparently screwed up the voting, and I don't want to make it worse.

I'll go with United, but only barely. I love these episodes!

Damage for me. Great drama and I feel for Archer having to make the call. Piracy isn't really something a Captain should stoop to. Although it's in keeping with how desperate the situation is and these not being Roddenberry humans yet. And since were down to sweating the small stuff... Making T'Pol effectively a trellium junkie always bothered me a little.

United, because Damage is my favorite here. Between the Vulcans and the Andorians... well, it was nuances that decided.

That's exactly why I like Damage. What Sisko did in In the Pale Moonlight is also not what a Captain should stoop to. And that's why it's a great episode.

Yeah, I guess. When it comes down to the best example of ENT, I'll take a positive outcome out of a negative one. Rather than two negatives in order to make a positive. Sure that's realistic and we see it on the news everyday. A little too much for my taste, I suppose. When you're in prosperous times, you cope with characters in bleak situations, making tough decisions. When those times change, you want to be reassured by decisions that make the outcome better for all.

Actually, maybe I no longer know what I'm talking about here...

"Damage" is a great episode for many reasons, but IMO it's not the best episode.

The Forge - United is my favorite of ENT.
Given what's left, I'd take United too. Short of the final speech moment in Terra Prime, it's the closest ENT came to fulfiling its potential.

The Forge is a good love letter to way Vulcans should be. Chock full of references. A Sehlat. One of Spock's questions from The Voyage Home is mentioned. That law of metaphysics isn't it? ENT did a better job of depicting Vulcan than the last film did. But that canon-fest probably makes it the obvious out.

Forrest's death is sudden and shocking. Soval coming into see Archer over his coffin is a great scene. Reed defusing a bomb, having a laugh with Travis while doing so, and then failing. The ENT cast never felt more alive to me, than in this season. Some of the stuff here is just that great.

Then again United has the Romulans and they work well as a force we never met - just a voice coming over the airwaves, their automated ships being cramped - indicating maybe they will be manned in future, Malcolm and Tucker in EV suits struggling against the odds always works for me, Reed's line about Trip liking build things while he prefers blowing them up, the TOS vibe of Archer and Shran fighting in a ritual combat, and the handshake ending panning out the window, to see the NX-01, Andorian and Tellarite ships.
