Spoilers The Acolyte

That was a good start.
The whole mysteries around what exactly went down on Mae & Osha's homeworld definitely has me intrigued. I'm assuming the four Jedi had tried to kill Mae after she started the fire, but I have a feeling there will be more to it than that.
They got me with the Indara fakeout, with Carrie Ann-Moss being such a big part of all the promotion I had assumed she'd be in a lot more than she was. But there's always a chance she could pop up somewhere else in flashback/vison or hologram or something.
I'm liking the cast a lot so far, they've all been good. I'm especially liking Sol and Osha. Pip is also a fun new addition to the franchise's collection of droids.
I've seen a few people guessing that Mae's master is going to be someone from the old EU, but I'm thinking he's introduced in show itself or that was introduced in the canon somewhere else. I can't imagine they'd be so mysterious about who he is unless the majority of the audience will recognize him. I'm assuming this would be to late for him to be Bane?
I like the look of it so far, it's recognizably Star Wars, but different enough to be clearly a different era.

Carrie-Ann Moss dying at the beginning of the premiere episode was a master stroke. She might appear in flashbacks going forward but I'm glad they didn't overuse her.
It was also the most predictable thing in the show so far. People guessed that from the first trailer.

Episode 1, 7.5
Not a bad start. Decent start, the jedi were very reserved and unemotional but I assume that was intentional.
Episode 2 tom i guess

Good start, although I think Lucasfilm messed up the marketing for the show by hiding the wrong one of Amandla's dual roles. Osha should've been the character that they put front and center, not Mae.

This was pretty good, overall. Action was cool and stylish. I liked the floating Force field monk trick. The backstory is intriguing. Just what happened on Brentok 16 years ago, and why do the targeted Jedi seem to feel such guilt over it?

My only criticism is that the entire thing feels very predictable. Hopefully I'm wrong and some of this stuff is red herrings, but I feel like I already know the ending of this.

Spoiler code, even though this is my speculation
So Qimir is going to be the Sith. Darth Bortles, if you will. And the entire setup with 'the Acolyte will kill a Jedi without a weapon' will end up being how OSHA becomes the Acolyte at the end. When Mae dies and Osha kills Sol in revenge, playing on his care for her to not need a weapon.

Feel free to point and laugh if I end up being hopelessly wrong!

Pretty solid start to the show. The fight scenes are a lot faster and more powerful than the initial trailers made them seem. I'm really liking Osha and Sol so far, and the relationship between them. I can't wait to unravel the mystery behind why Mae wants those particular four Jedi dead.

My only real gripe so far is the endings are very awkward and abrupt. It feels more like one long movie being cut up, instead of separate episodes.

Of all the reviews I read in advance of the premiere, IGN's 6/10 rating of "okay" hits closest to the mark. I like it so far, don't love it. It's in the upper half of Disney Star Wars shows, but that's also not a high bar to clear.

I wonder about the wisdom of revealing Mae's existence so soon. Feels like it took a lot of the tension out and undercut what could have been an interesting whodunit (or, rather, a howdunit). Despite how fast-moving the story is, it doesn't feel especially urgent. I don't feel like any of the main characters are actually in any danger.

However, I do like that it's putting the Jedi arrogance under scrutiny. The prequel-era versions of those guys were dicks, and the whole deal of, effectively, kidnaping children to raise them in a cult cut off from their families deserves to be called out. So so far the politics of it all are fine by me.

I just have an interesting thought: the only reason Carrie Anne Moss can only do 1 episode, is because Disney can only afford to pay her 1 episode. How much is her wage? $5M just for that scene

They are going to be very careful with the Sith. The Jedi aren’t supposed to have any contact with them until TPM. That means that if any Jedi do, they will either be killed and have their memories erased.
Didn't Dooku go to meet with Sidious during the events of TPM, when he was still with the Jedi Order, as if it had been happening at least for a bit prior to TPM....

She was in the Jessica Jones tv show. I don’t think she’s that costly
