Spoilers The Acolyte

It will probably go over my head, as I haven't engaged with any of that material for a very long time, but I'm sure there will be plenty of people in internet land who will notice it and be happy to point it out. :)
Or whine about? ;)

"Whatever you think The Acolyte is, it's not."
I am actually sufficiently ingtrigued. Her approach is one that I can appreciate more, especially with the influence of Japanese, and wushu for the different storytelling beats and combat. The action definitely has my interest, as well as seeing the Jedi Order in a much different light. I would love to see them more at the height of their power and why their downfall is a tragedy. Don't know if the Acolyte will get there but thematically is has some sparks to it.

The fighting needs to be faster. I saw that in the Celebration leaks but I thought they were going to tighten it up.
You have a bad feeling about everything.
I wonder if the showrunners even had any idea that Yoda should be in this.

Like how Obi-Wan kind of gives off the vibe that they forgot all about Qui-Gon until McGregor said something.
Also why wouldn't they stop supporting the ST? It's still canon as far as I know.
Yeah, it's in no danger of being decanonized. But let me put it this way, they haven't allowed anyone to say the word "midichlorians" yet...

Hopefully the answer was "No."

And yet they are continually using design cues from the ST, as well as aliens. I'm sure many wish it was forgotten but it is hardly forbidden.

Who said they're not allowed to say it?
Just because they haven't doesn't mean they're forbidden. Also I'm almost certain the full word has been said out loud in one of the series.

Why should Yoda be in the series?
It's a big galaxy, he could be off somewhere else during the events of the show.

Hopefully? :(
Yes, hopefully. Yoda doesn't need to be in it. It's ok for him to not. It's ok for Star Wars to explore this period, and not make references. I would welcome a brief appearance at the end, but just make it casual. This isn't fan service the series.

That's what I was saying. I mostly noticed it in Andor.
Yes, almost as if it's a saga and connected together in some way. Strange, I know.

Even in the High Republic books Yoda isn't a giant part of it (at least the stuff I've read). He shows up, sure. But he isn't in everything.

Nothing about that inspires me at all.

It's just a handful of generic fight scenes in non-descript locations strung together with trite platitudes. It's about as "Star Wars cliché" as one minute-and-a-half video can be.

It looks like they spent a lot of money on it, really liking the alien designs, they look organic. It feels like Carrie Ann Moss should've been in Star Wars way before now. I also feel she should've had a bigger role in the MCU, or in comic book movies as well.

I felt the action scenes here were too stilted. Perhaps that's just a stylistic choice, though overall, I haven't been impressed with Disney Star Wars depiction of light saber duels or using the Force in action scenes. I don't have Disney Plus, and this trailer alone isn't making me subscribe, however, I would give this a chance, and if I get Plus sometime in the future, I would give it a chance.

I am curious to see how they will depict the Sith or other dark siders, and it would be cool to get more Legends old school Sith canonized, if even in dialogue.

Not sure what is stilted. It looks like a lot of the Chinese and similar choreography schools I've seen from different shows. Of course, we have limited viewpoints on the action so not sure. But, the overall concepts are strong.

I was very underwhelmed by the trailer. It feels small scale and low budget but trying to tell a big, epic story. The two don't mesh. That's my take. I understand if others like or love it. More power to them. But nothing excites me about the show. It's far removed from anything else Star Wars related so i'm not in a rush to see it.

I just love the tingly Matrix vibe I get from seeing Jedi-Trinity in action.

As Neo would say . . . "Whoa!" :D

I didn't have much interest in this project before now. Now, I am teased.
I am teased, and that is good.
I have spoken.

Though I'm reluctant to speculate too much because it's meant to be a mystery, and half the enjoyment is watching it unfold (plus they're being very coy and likely deliberately misdirecting) . . . I can't help but wonder if part of what's going on here isn't some Sith scheme, but a Sith apprentice (or "acolyte" if you prefer) going rogue, and prematurely attacking the Jedi directly, or trying to warn them about what's going on . . . by leaving a trail of Jedi bodies right back to their Master's doorstep.

I guess I just want something more interesting than merely "the Sith are up to shenanigans, and the Jedi Order comes out of it all still clueless". Not that I think it has to be this way, but it would certainly be interesting if what's going on isn't a Sith plot, but Sith infighting spilling out of the shadows. Like the Apprentice has lost all patience and is making bold moves, while the Master is desperately trying to cover their tracks while hunting down the apprentice, killing anyone that gets in the way, or sees too much.

What about "Noir style murder mystery" says "trying to be epic" to you exactly?

I was under the impression that this was the first emergence of the Sith to the Jedi, which to me seems like deserving of a larger story rather than a murder mystery.
