Apparently this was expected for another reason too: MGM is trying to reacquire the rights to the Terminator Franchise from Warner Brothers and it looks like they're going to be given them.
Warners just has a distribution deal. In fact they're just the domestic distributor. International distribution is being handled by a number of different companies, with Sony handling the most territories. The principal rights holder is the Halcyon Co.Does WB actually own the rights or do they have a distribution deal with the actual rights holders?

NX, give me the name of the person(s) who made the decision, I wana fire off some angry e-mails
Yeah, HEROES is going to get another season. Seriously though Dollhouse didn't water down the nearly undefeatable boogeyman every night so while the genre fan in me will miss the craptacular TSCC Dollhouse is the better option.yet the dollhouse looks like it might be renewed? Did we really need more proof that shit floats?

Exactly, MGM has, because they won a lawsuit against Halcyon and because of their connection to the now defunct Orion Pictures. If Salvation is a success they have every intention of taking the film away from WB from what's been said.

This info on the movie franchise is what REALLY fires me up though. My god we are never going to get a nice boxed set on the whole saga are we? Furthermore how does this affect the plans for T5 & T6 I wonder. Cause T5 had reports of prelim work being moved ahead.![]()
I do not believe it is cancelled unless Friedman says so. Or Summer.
It would sound strange that they could not make money out of this series. If they make money out of some 200 million dollar film - how could they not make money out of series costing far less for the whole 2 seasons so far? There is nothing comparable on TV. Has not been in years. So why would people not watch it? Maybe the series needed movie-like advertising, get the movie-people to advertise it. Or show clips of lovable Summer talking to her fans at cons and triple the viewership.
Josh Friedman has said there will be no continuation of this timeline. There will be no D2DVD film, no move to CW as rumored, no novel follow up.Is the series going to get a proper wrap-up? Will we at least find out if Judgment Day was averted in this timeline?
Actually the show did have high viewership ratings in DVR and online viewing (counting them the show had just shy of 7 million viewers); they just didn't take them into account this time.
