From now on one show at a time?

The best thing they can do is ignore the Abrams/Kurtz era and focus on one new series. Get the characters right first and then decide the era and everything else. I'd personally like to see a non-fanwank "Next Next Generation" set about fifty years after NEM or a series set on the first Federation starship with crew from the founding worlds working together for the first time.

Actually if anything - SNW S5's 6 episodes may be what 'wraps up' pre Skydance Trek.

SFA S1 in Jan. 2026
SNW S4 in July 2026
SFA S2 in Jan. 2027
SNW S5 in July 2027

I’m going to guess that they’re going to show SNW seasons 4 & 5 concurrently, and end the show in 2026. Which would leave SFA season two (and possibly last?) in Jan ‘27. Then Skydance might start making their own stuff.

Yeah, no. I doubt that as S5 will still be in Post.

Plus they'll want to market the hell out of teh ending SNW S5 the same was they did PICARD S3 and ST: D S5.

Yes, I know, to you it's crap, but in reality SNW is one of P+'s most successful and overall most watched Trek series. They aren't going to fast track to the end because no matter what Skydance decides - the stuff they go with will nead Development time.

When did I ever say SNW was crap?

They made season 5 truncated for a reason (and after both narrowly not having a season 5 at all, to a two-hour movie instead, to 6 episodes that they had to fight for.) They want to end the show as soon as possible to make way for whatever they have planned now. That’s not saying the show is crap. PIC, now that show was crap.

...They want to end the show as soon as possible to make way for whatever they have planned now...
No real evidence of that anywhere. They're going to want to get the most out of money spent and stick tpo what they've been doing WRT having programming on a regular schedule.

With this new rerereboot movie announced (assuming anything comes of it), I can see them ending the shows and going theatrical-only for awhile as recently happened when Superman and Lois was ended to make way for the reboot Superman movie. There may even be a contract involved we don't learn about until years later, as way back when Paramount had a non-compete with CBS (now Paramount TV) who weren't allowed to launch Discovery until the 3-movie deal had concluded with Bad Robot.

You think SFA will run for five seasons? That's quite optimistic.
The goal for new streaming Trek shows seem to be 5 seasons. Discovery, SNW and Lower Decks each got 5 seasons. Picard is an exception since it was planned for 3 season right from the start.

So i am sure the current people in charge hope SFA goes at least 5 seasons but the new owners may have a different idea.

One show a year is unrealistic when every other "franchise" is trying to do multiple so that they have an "engaged" fanbase for longer stretches of time. Though I guess Im just using Marvel and Star Wars as an example DC hasnt gone into full swing yet to be able to say anything about that. That being said 5 was always a pipe dream even though it was when the wait between shows was just a couple weeks. I suspect if they are doing anything it will be something like 3 shows at a time, with two airing each year.

Skydance may want to do a clean slate, but I'm pretty sure they also want to be as lean (cheap) as possible and so they might keep Academy around if only for the fact that a new show in it's place means making all new sets, hiring all new actors and a longer wait time before a new season of Trek is in front of people making them money. Of course ratings could tank for it so much that doing that ends up worth it regardless.

If Academy does a Smallville and keeps a large casual audience (while being HATED by the hardcores) it'll do just fine. Or it could be the next Prodigy, a show aimed young and watched by the usual diminishing crowd of 40something Trekkies.

Again though, also pending what the new owners want to do.
