Thank you. This was made by switching to a water background instead of the tiles that I initially thought would respond better to the glass tiling effect. But the water image did better. I increased the granularity of the water by 130x magnification. Then swirled the water, added glass tiling and changed the lighting to brighten and highlight the bluish-white swirl areas so that they would seem more "energetic". End result was a better FX scene then I have ever made, although that is a low bar admittedly.
Interesting ideas about the sphere and what happens after going thru it. Does the front part of the ship start coming out of the "arrival gate" even as the stern of the ship hasnt passed the "departure gate" horizon? Or is it like you suggest? Or something else. I dont picture a long trip thru hyperspace or some similar realm. It's a fairly quick "jump" I think. But it enters entirely into and thru the "departure gate" before it "jumps" through to the arrival gate. So I dont think it is half in one and half out the other. A digital like "space" is an interesting idea.
