Survivor 20:Hero's vs Villians, live comentary

Colby is a moron. He should have backed Amanda to the hilt. It is Colby's fault that she is gone.

I look forward to seeing Candice voted off.
Yeap me too. Colby made an mistake but hindsight is 20/20. The rules are somewhat unclear on this. Danielle found the clue first so by default she alone has the right to read the clue. Even she hided it in the pillow or the floor. It is forbidden to steal or grap the idol from the castway and logically this should subly with the clue to the idol as well.

Oh my, I'm in this weird position where I agree with an xian zealot

I need to lay down.

Colby always puts his sense of fair-play above anything Survivor-related. It's why he chose the wrong person to face him in the season 2 finale (thereby costing him $900,000).

WTF. Candice you dumbass. You were set for final 3 with Amanda and Colby or with Sandra or Rupert and then you flip to the villains tribe to be 5th and 6th. This is beyond logic. She is finished now. The remaining Heroes will not trust her again and the Villains dont need her anymore.

Exactly. And that's what I'm talking about that makes no sense. You know I've really enjoyed this season up until Thursday's episode. After that episode, I walked away with the feeling that I was just watching a bunch of actors reading from a script.

As I've said before, because of the sheer number of people involved, I don't really believe the game is rigged, but episodes like that stir my imagination. I've really kind of lost interest in this season now.

People like Colby are idiots. LOL

There is no lie I would not tell to win that game if I played it. I'd make my grandmother penniless if we were playing poker and she put up her life savings. In a game like poker or Survivor where wits and skill combine and money is at stake I don't care who i am playing against I'll double cross or lie to em in a heartbeat.

Outside of a situation like that where you're trying to take money out of my pocket I'm the nicest, most loyal friend you can imagine. Put me in a game of poker or Survivor and try and take money from me and I'll rip your heart out.. :>)) I NEVER feel guilty about winning when money is at stake. Ever.

You'd be surprised what a serious taxing on the body and mind like Survivor does to a person's thinking processes. Also, Candice may very well know and very likely suspects that Russell ain't too happy that Parvati kept the idol from him and can parlay that into a much stronger position with a much stronger player that anyone in her alliance is.

Also, keep in mind we see mere minutes of a couple days worth of time. LOTS of stuff happens off camera that we don't see.

And I think its the best stuff we dont see since half the time someone gets voted off, I never see it coming. So something is going on that we're not seeing...who ever edits this show should get an emmy!!!

Rob

Heh, that was fun. Nice job by Rupert making them think he had the idol to make them split the vote so he and Colby could take out Candice, and then Russell turns around and breaks up Parvati and Danielle's alliance. I wonder if he's really hopping over to Colby and Rupert next week, or if that's just him playing them up, because he has to know that there's no way he'd beat either of them if he took them to the Final Three.

Granted I'm pretty new at this Survivor stuff (the girlfriend introduced me), but at this point, I don't think there's any way Russell can win, period. He's pissed off too many members of the jury and alienated a lot of his remaining alliance. He's played the game very well thus far, but in the second tribal, he showed far too much arrogance by claiming his typical, "If I want them to go home, they go home." Worked for him tonight. How much longer is that going to happen?

Still, its one exciting game, ain't it?

It's so weird. As phenomenal as Russell is at strategy - as he showed again - as atrocious he is at social interaction. I think he would literally not get a single vote if he makes it to the final. I don't know how anyone could vote for him after the shit he's pulling constantly.

And I won't miss either the women kicked out this week.

I'd do it in a heartbeat even if he back stabbed me. Bunch of whiny babies if they don't. These are supposed to be great players. You acknowledge great play. Simple as that.

I still have no idea who Russell thinks is going to vote for him in a final jury vote. I guess he might get a couple votes if Parvati doesn't make it to the final. He just loves to piss everybody off...which is a great way to win $100,000 (making everybody want to sit next to you at the final tribal council). It's not a great way to win the million.

Maybe he's operating under the assumption that he'd won Samoa, so he isn't worrying too much about getting jury votes this time around.

I doubt it. His ego is big enough that he'd want to win both seasons and prove he's "the best survivor of all time" as he keeps boasting.

Tonight was interesting - I wasn't expecting Parv and Danielle to get broken up this early. I won't miss Danielle or Candace either - they were the two contestants this season I had to look up to remember who they were, and neither really made much of an impression this time either.

At this point, I'm rooting for Parvati to win. I don't normally like repeat winners, but she's really the only one who deserves it.

On a side note, I'm really sick of people dropping out of challenges after a minute for a plate of effing cookies.

Honestly, this is the first season of Survivor I've watched since All-Stars. I may have watched Vanuatu, but I can't remember. And I didn't start watching until the episode where Tyson screwed up the anti-Russell/Parvati alliance. So most of these people are completely new to me. But I've enjoyed the heck out of what I've seen, so I'm probably going to tune in for the next season.

And I completely agree with you about dropping out of challenges for cookies. It was fine for Russell and Sandra, Russell because he knew another HII was coming up and he's apparently the "king" of them, Sandra because she's flying under the radar. But it made no sense for Colby to drop out when he knew it was probably going to be either him or Rupert to be cut next.

:guffaw:

Ok, that was a bit nuts. Russell's risky tricks finally backfired on him hard. Amazingly he was still able to get rid of Danielle thanks to her emotional breakdown... but this episode really broke up the villains in a big way. Parv is denied her top ally, Sandra is sitting pretty amidst all the craziness with her hidden idol. Rupert and Colby are still alive... Jerri, though seemingly sleepwalking for the whole game, helped oust Danielle... so where does she stand, Russell's ally by default?

I think I'm going to have to hunt down some of those clips on CBS.com to make sense of where this is all going. Aside from a Russell and Sandra alliance, I don't think anything could surprise me at this point.

Yeah, I don't know what's up with Jerri right now. I thought she was a lot more shrewd than she's shown this season. Especially tonight, she protests to Russell's plan, then he snaps that if Rupert goes tonight, that she's next. There's clearly no rational basis for that, and when she asks him to explain he stammers and says she just is. Clearly it was just an idle threat, yet somehow it sent her into a fit of paranoia strong enough for her to flip. I have no idea what side she's going to end up on next week. I'd say she has NO chance of winning a jury vote at this point though, no matter who she's up against.

The way Russell plays is PERFECT to get to the finals.

His tactics and manipulation are unmatched and the side effect of his aggressive play is that everyone wants to be up against him in the finals.

But getting to the finals is one thing. Winning when you are there is another.

I can't see that there is any way he can win this against ANYONE that is left if he makes it or not.

He goings to lose, just like he did in Samoa.

If he does it's going to be another case of a bunch of whiny babies who can't take that they get their asses handed to them.
