Survivor 20:Hero's vs Villians, live comentary

Good to see Russell staying alive, and his maneuvering with Candice probably saved the villains. I'm interested to see how much of a split there is with Parvati next week. If they're smart they'll get over it, declare they both had their fun with hidden immunity idols, and that the strategy works better when there's actual communication. I hope they dump Sandra soon, I'm sick of her Michelle Rodriguez tough girl posturing already. Or Rupert. I appreciate that he was the only one not dumb enough to fall for last week's trap, but boy is he a sad whimpering sack.

Russell declared (in a secret scene posted on the cbs website) that Parvati has to go home because he doesn't trust her anymore. I'm not sure Russell really has a choice, though. Parvati may have more mojo at this point.

Little by little Russell is getting frozen out and losing control. The fact that he used his idol last night (and no one voted for him) shows he no longer trusts his alliance and no longer believes he knows what is going on.

WTF. Candice you dumbass. You were set for final 3 with Amanda and Colby or with Sandra or Rupert and then you flip to the villains tribe to be 5th and 6th. This is beyond logic. She is finished now. The remaining Heroes will not trust her again and the Villains dont need her anymore.

Amanda has never treated Candice very well, and Candice's connection with the Heroes group has been weak since Cirie left. Candice was pretty much screwed either way.

Edit: Candice may have also picked up an opening in Russell's disagreements with Parvati. That probably won't materialize into anything good for Candice, but Russell does seem to be looking for other options.

It was a terrible episode imo. Did they put something in the water supply that suddenly makes everyone left out there stupid? Rupert is the best strategist left in the Heroes camp, lol.

Might just be me but they but do they have more immunity idols this season or is it just that people are using them more instead of getting booted with them still tucked away?

Agree. In my opinion the idols are ruining the game especially in last 2 season. If i remember correctly. Russell has found it 6 times:wtf: and current season isent over jet. This s just getting out of hands because this prevent the purpose of the game as a social experiment. Instead of castaways using their wits to further their game forwards. They go looking for idols instead.
I am not against hidden immunity idols(i like it) but their has to be rules or limitations how many can be use in a season. Personally i would have one idol pr tribe during premerge game and then one idol after the merged. So in total 3 idols per game and when it is used it is not re-hidden again, again again.
The idol power now prevented Russell being voted out again because it was a huge factor why Candice flipped over. This wouldn't have happened in a regular season.

Regarding the reward challenge, could it have been more painfully obvious that the Survivors couldn't have cared less about Robert Louis Stevenson and the historical significance of the site? I felt sorry for the poor curator-lady who was trying so hard to show off her impressive collection of artifacts and first editions, while Amanda was practically turning over the seat cushions looking for an idol.

That was just rude. You can at least pretend to be interested in the museum and its displays.

I'm starting to agree with the overuse of the hidden immunity idol. We have our first Catfight on Survivor last night, and while it might be good for ratings and stuff, I found it awkward. Hopefully that's the last time the Idol is used, even though I think it's going to be hidden again and Russell is going to get it.

Other than that good episode. Sucks Amanda got voted out, since I was pulling for her. Hopefully next week one of the power players (Russell) goes.

Well I liked the episode! Sucks that Amanda got voted out though, the Heroes are effed. Looks like its Pavarti's to lose.

Whats' the protocol there, if any, for who finds the hidden idol? Amanda just picked it up off the floor, to me that was hers - Danielle should have kept it on her person. She shouldn't have given it away.

I believe the protocol is that you can't steal an actual idol from another contestant once they find it. But that wasn't an idol; it was just a clue to finding an idol.

That's more of a gray area. The actual piece of paper had no value. What mattered was the information on it . . . .

Hopefully next week one of the power players (Russell) goes.

On his Blog Jeff Probst says next week is a double elimination - two players go home.

I kind of had a feeling something like that would happen. The Two CBS reality finales (Amazing Race and Survivor) typically happen about a week in between the two and Survivor needs to pick up the pace. Amazing Race's finale is a week from Sunday.

Oh, and I don't think those two players are going home. They have to be on the Jury first. ;)

Candice didnt pick any opening with Russell and Parvati. Russell went to every Heroes trying to make them flip and only Candice bought it. Amanda and Cirie had patch thing up and made a final 3 deal. This why i think Candice decision trading final 3 deal with a: Amanda and Colby or b: Amanda and Sandra with Russell offer being maybe final 5 stupid. You never flip to the side that offers you worser deal. It was a dumb move and i hope she goes next.

Colby is a moron. He should have backed Amanda to the hilt. It is Colby's fault that she is gone.

I look forward to seeing Candice voted off.
Yeap me too. Colby made an mistake but hindsight is 20/20. The rules are somewhat unclear on this. Danielle found the clue first so by default she alone has the right to read the clue. Even she hided it in the pillow or the floor. It is forbidden to steal or grap the idol from the castway and logically this should subly with the clue to the idol as well.

Same difference. She decided to go with Russell during a time when Russell is reconsidering his alliance with Danielle (who also knew about Parvati's idol) and Parvati. Sure, Russell made the offer to everybody, but Candice is the one who took him up on it. It will probably end up back-firing on her, but it could also work out quite well for her.
