Survivor 20:Hero's vs Villians, live comentary

It looks like Boston Rob won another challenge for the villains. He was (or at least seemed to be) a bit of a liability during the first part of the challenge, but he owned the puzzle part of it.

And again, the villians win immunity because Rob knows his shit. And he had just passed out the day before! Kahoonas of steel, that guy has :techman:

He'll eventually be the threat and get voted off I'll bet :(

Russell is out for blood. He doesn't like Boston Rob taking the limelight.

I don't think they'll get rid of Boston Rob early, though. They need him for the challenges. It's just too risky. That could mean an early challenge would back-fire on Russell (getting Russell out early instead). It would explain Russell's foul mood in recent interviews.

One thing I don't get is why hasn't Russell looked for the hidden immunity idol, did they change the rules again after seeing what he did the previous season and they don't come into play until later?

I know the producers give the contestants the rules before the show starts, so if they had gotten rules saying the HII isn't put into play until a certain day then that would make sense. They haven't done the winning tribe send a person to hang with the losing tribe thing. Maybe because it's an all-star season and they know about each other already? I dunno.

Just seems strange to not see Russell searching for it.

Amanda outside of Survivor is attractive. Amanda in Survivor in her bikini and kinda grimy is just uber hot.

Phew...Glad she's gonna be sticking around

Bye, Stephanie! I guess you won't be the black widow again!

I always liked Tom (possibly my favorite winner ever), so it's too bad that his alliance is in trouble.

James is really losing it. He could be gone soon...which would just continue their downward spiral on challenges... It would be a big boost for Tom, though.

My favorites (who I want to win):

If a villain wins: Boston Rob
If a hero wins: Tom

I agree with every word of this. Bikini grime Amanda is just crazy.

I think his collapse was totally fake. His whole tribe is worthless around camp, he's doing all the work, so he fakes a collapse so that they all know how much they need him and he can take a few days off to relax. Then he gets a clam and wins the challenge for them, so they go "wow, that's amazing for someone on the verge of leaving the game yesterday." Rob's smart enough to pull that off and use it to his advantage, which is why he's a great player.

Notice the last thing he said before the collapse was that it's time for him to be a villain again. Also, the medic said she couldn't find anything particularly wrong with him from her (albeit cursory) examination. And boom, he's up and around cracking jokes five minutes later.

I love how pissed off Gollum got about Rob getting all the attention though. The inevitable showdown between those two is going to be great.

It was stupid to get rid of Steph this early in the game. You don't get rid of strong player early on.

Rupert and James are total dicks. James is just a bully, and Hagrid is a worthless sack who bitches and moans about everything. When he sat there laughing at tribal council when James started going off on Stephanie he showed what a prick he actually is. The nice guy act is just that; an act.

Good on Colby and Tom for at least stepping up to defend Stephanie at tribal when James was being a punk, though it would have been nice if some people had spoken up earlier. But then that could have put them on the chopping block, I guess.

That being said, it was one of the better tribal council arguments in a while.

Yeah, Rob even admitted it was a bit of "cry-baby-itus." He definitely used it to his advantage.

As for Tom and Colby: I agree that it was great to see them speak up for Stephanie even if it might have pushed them farther onto the chopping block.

Rupert is definitely dead weight (whether it's because of the toe or just inherent to the guy). I still remember him deciding that it was a great idea to bury a shelter three feet into the sand. He doesn't get nearly enough flak for that one...

Wow, it's weird to see James as being such a dick. It looks like he did lose it a bit.

And thumbs up on all the nice asses on this season!

:techman:

The preview seemed to hint that it's just going to get worse.

Interesting review:

"Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains" introduced a fascinating concept in episode two: making the Heroes out to be more like Villains. I found myself routinely rooting for the bad guys this week, while the majority of the "honorable ones" spent some time stroking their egos and squabbling with each other.

That's two immunity challenges in a row in which the heroes tribe lost a big early lead when it came time to work on a puzzle. It's not going to take much more before the heroes tribe gets nicknamed the "dumb" tribe.

I never liked Boston Rob, but he's starting to grow on me this season. He's played an impressive game both physically and mentally (I have my suspicions about his collapse, but even if it was legit, he used it to his advantage).

Love the rivalry building up between Boston Rob and Russell. I got a kick out of Russell nabbing the chicken after Rob came back with the clam. The one-upmanship between these two should be entertaining.

Not sure what's up with James. He was one of my favorites before, but now he's acting like a dick. That said, I'm still glad that Stephanie is gone. Never cared for her.
