Two new cat toys. Well, that's not their intended purposes, but my laser range finder (laser tape measure) doubles as a laser cat toy (discovered completely by accident when Kaylee started scrambling to catch the red dot when I was checking the thing out) and the digital DAW controller with motorized faders is a hoot when I start manipulating the faders in my music program and the faders on my board start moving "on their own!" I think I've frustrated Kaylee a couple too many times in the few days I've had it. Have you ever seen a cat try to capture a mouse pointer on a computer screen? It's kinda like them literally chasing a physical manifestation of your computer mouse! I need to capture it on video with a side-by-side of my PC screen.

I was browsing through CDs at the local Half Price Books and stumbled upon an old "Cosmos" soundtrack. For only $20. (it's $75 on Amazon.) WHEE!

Good thing today: due to a flood we couldn't do today's sampling. According to the official schedule in such a case the sampling is to be postponed by a month, i.e. to August 10th, in which case I couldn't have taken a vacation. But now they preponed it to the 24th of July and I can have the first half of August off as planned. YAY!

I have a very good cellar. Even when the temperature outside gets really hot, it keeps a steady temperature (give or take two degrees.). That's a good news.

Sorry, "Human Resources". Maybe you call them something different? The department who handles personnel issues and makes sure employees follow the appropriate conduct rules and such. Granted, I'm only guessing, but I'm assuming "no sex parties" is a fairly standard rule worldwide!

LOL yes indeed. Besides, there are only 2 cute colleagues and both are heavily married But there'll be a lot of boozing today and music and dance.
Being a non-dancer and cursed with a very sensitive hearing I'll stick with the BBQ and our geologist's excellent tabbouleh and sneak off when the general mood gets too raunchy.
