Supernatural, season 11 *SPOILERS!*

This was a good episode of Supernatural. However, they really need to stop building things up this big because they have neither the writing nor the budget to deliver. The battle with Amara reminded me of how underwhelming the battle with the leviathans were.

Well, she finally got a beating but......yeah. Kinda wasn't what I was hoping for. But it's obviously all just to set-up what will happen next week.

And Rowena actually did something right. Huh. Go figure.

Yea, I kind of felt the same. The build up did not match the payoff. The last 10 minutes or so just felt flat compared to what came before. After the whole "witch lightning", it felt like someone was letting the air out of their pool raft....

Entertainment Weekly says the CW is moving Supernatural--again. This time, it's to Thursday, at 9pm (Eastern).
The other notable decision is that The CW is moving Supernatural – again! The 12th season of the fan-favorite drama (and handy time slot utility player) is shifting back to Thursdays at 9 p.m., where it will get a lead-in from D.C.’s Legends of Tomorrow. The last time Supernatural was on Thursdays was back in season 5.

Dang it. Seems like most of the shows I watch all seem to pile up on one night. I guess Supernatural is their "go-to" player to bolster their weaker shows. I do wish they'd quit shuffling it around, though.

Supernatural has gone through a lot of different time slots over the years, so I imagine it will survive going back to Thursdays. Supernatural aired seasons 2 through 5 (plus the last few episodes of season 1) on Thursday nights, so it should be right at home (after being bounced from Tuesday to Friday to Wednesday to Tuesday again and back to Wednesday).

^It's like schedule ping-pong.

I know the show will be fine; it has a built-in audience. However, I'm a creature of habit; change annoys me.

I'm afraid the penultimate episode was a let down for me. God's first two appearances were absolutely heavenly, but I felt like they made God and Lucifer WAY too 'human' and 'normal' in this episode. I really, really cringed at Lucifer locking himself in a bedroom blaring music. Really? This is how you're going to portray this character? My God.

And like others said, the big battle against Amara had some serious build-up / budget issues.

So, is there a IRL reason why they're still using Mischa Collins to play Lucifer rather than the original actor? I'd really prefer to have Castiel interacting with these characters. And why would God continue to "punish" Castiel by keeping him a prisoner in his own body all this time?

Mark Pellegrino has been busy appearing on The Returned and more recently, Quantico. They couldn't get him for very long, and it also gave Misha something different to do. I liked the switcheroo for awhile, but I do miss Castiel; it's time for him to come back. I hope they can get Mark back, too, at least for a one-shot. He is all kinds of awesome.

Yeah, same here. I really want to see Castiel meet God, since I think it's been said or implied that they've never met face to Face. Given Castiel's loyalty and the fact that he's been re-assembled numerous times, that will be quite a meeting. And Mark Pellegrino is great. I've loved him since Being Human.

I actually thought it was hilarious how Lucifer reverted to an adolescent as soon as he was in the presence of his Parent. Very human indeed. :rommie:

Overall, it was a great episode, but just hard to live up to the last two. Hopefully we have a nice big finish next week.

It continues to amaze me how this show continues to fly under the radar of religious fanatics. It's almost like they're taunting them now. A God who is unsure and makes mistakes, who has girlfriends and boyfriends, who has a sister who is His equal, who says that creativity was just there waiting to be used, who needs help from demons and witches, and who can die-- where are those Christian watchdog groups? :rommie:

Million Mums has already gone after Lucifer for it's 13 episode run and that was before the "Mum" line.

Supernatural has been depicting god in a very unfavourable light, and Lucy as sympathetic for years now, and they haven't said a word. Who knows.

I think this must be one of the few times there's even been a depiction of these two getting together again, nevermind trying to talk it out.

Apropos of nothing....Misha Collins decided to a make a video, documenting what it was like to attend a Trump rally. I love Misha. God knows he's done some crazy stuff for "teh interwebs" ("meanwhile.......Misha") but this is the first time I've ever been worried for his safety.

Good man. :bolian: He's right. Apathy is deadly. The quote is probably apocryphal, but it's still true: "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."

And it really burns me up to see traitors chanting "USA."

Prediction/theory/wishful thinking about what lies ahead this week:

Lucifer said that God is "a master strategist." I'm hoping that the end of "We Happy Few" was an illusion by God to judge how Amara would react...either that or that He's not as mortally wounded as it appeared.

(Yes, grasping at straws...I just don't want them to kill off...God! Or even Lucifer for that matter since that would mean no more Mark Pellegrino.)

A friend of mine speculated that God and Rowena switched places, and that's why she wasn't killed like the other witches.

They can't really kill off God (as awesome as that would be), since it would have the same effect as killing Amara - ending the universe. Maybe they will be combined into one being?

I'm thinking that would have a "cancelling out" effect rather than merging. They're equals but opposites. God was taking the Mark from Amara and running other magic Rowena couldn't.

I'm just wondering what it is she's staring at, it looks like the Sun's dying or something else Very Bad happening on the horizon.
