Supernatural: Season 10 (Spoilers!)

How exactly is Tina supposed to start her life over again? She doesn't even exist according to the law. How will she get an education, a job, or an apartment?

This one was a lot of fun. I didn't expect the whole Hansel & Gretel element. It also gave us a bit of a tie into the whole thing with the whole Rowena and The Grand Coven element.
I wonder if we're ever going to actually get to meet or at least see The Grand Coven?

She's just a kid. They'll put her into the Foster system, assign her a name, get her a Social Security number, and she'll start her life over...I would imagine. She's just a child, on the outside. She'll make up some story, people will believe her and she'll be set.

Is 30 grand a lot of debt?

It doesn't seem like she's even bought and wrote off a couple cars?

I think the child could quadruple her adult selfs debt before anyone felt it was time to break arms.

More than enough to get her 2nd childhood started.

I still watch every episode, and don't get me wrong, love Supernatural... however, does anyone feel like the show is just running out of steam or running a bit too long? Seems like they are grabbing for ideas for episodes now. Sometimes its entertaining, sometimes it just, well, is, kind of boring?

^this season is very unfocused. Everything feels "scattered." There are lots of "nice moments," but a surprising amount of "meh" moments that go nowhere. I think because it's the least cohesive season so far. Unless they pull some incredible "rabbit" out of their screenwriting hats, this will be my least favorite season so far.

I don't know, I've started picking up on the fact that everything's related and that it's slowly starting to come together. I hope I'm not disappointed.

^ I hope so, too. I'm hoping it will all come together in some grand "ta-da" moment. We shall see.

We get the show a few days late here, so I've finally seen the recent episode. I enjoyed it, but I wonder how much that's just in contrast to the tedium of the preceding season. Anyway, there was an interesting case-of-the-week, some nice laughs and no real sucky moments. The kid playing young Dean delivered his lines really well. Sam says Dean didn't "hulk out" this time, but he did destroy the witch and the hex bag, ending Tina's chance to return to adulthood and also losing a chance for intel on Rowena, which makes the ending feel unsatisfactory.

Some kind of coherence is finally emerging for this season, with Dean learning to live with the Mark, and Rowena plotting something-or-other in Hell. But this is really the least compelling season so far. There's no sense of urgency, there's no Big Bad, the Earth isn't in danger, our heroes and their friends aren't in any particular peril. What the hell has happened to the writers that they've let the show slide so far downhill?

P.S. I hope Dean will not be listening to Taylor Swift in future episodes.

Yeah, we do have the two arcs going, the Dean and the Mark of Cain story, and the Rowena story, but they're definitely much more quite than what we usually get on the show.

I really wish they'd just stuck with Deanmon for this season. Sam chases him around the US, cleaning up his messes, and when he catches him, never has the heart to take him down. Deanmon has a Jekyll and Hyde thing, where he is a cool badass getting into all sorts of fixes, giving him an excuse to kill a lot of people. Then he calls Sam and breaks down: "I didn't want to kill all those people, Sam, I had to. I had to." And Sam gets his twitchy emotional face and says "It's okay, Dean, it's okay." And we get to scream at the TV: "No it's not okay he just murdered two dozen people!" Then they team up to find the magic doohicky which can cure Dean.

That would be good times.

Yeah, you're right. A child with no identity would be treated differently than an adult with no identity. I didn't think that through.

It's been like that for five years now.

Tonight's episode should've been titled "I Know What You Did At 8:10." It was fun, but ghosts have been overdone. It would be interesting to see a different bad guy.

This is Supernatural. They have a big story arc which they don't have enough ideas for, which requires the arc to be spread thin over the course of the season and thus there are lots and lots and lots of filler episodes, then they have no idea what to do with their arc once they revisit it and it's DOA. Then the repeat it the next season.

I'm thinking that this was an old script that they almost used a few years ago and it was shelfed until now.

That's what the shelf is for.

Use a shelf script, get a long weekend.

I didn't think it was all that bad. It's nice to see the show go back to a Season One-style ghost story every once in a while.
