Supernatural: Season 10 (Spoilers!)

Charlie returns next week, and it looks like she's fighting Dean.

The return of Charlie in an episode written by Robbie Thompson -- guaranteed greatness.:techman:

This week's episode was pretty lackluster. I enjoyed Crowley and his mother but the rest of the show felt pretty thin. Metatron's cryptic comment about seeking out the source of the Mark (aka Cain) has me looking forward to the return of the Bearded Bad-Ass himself, Timothy Omundson.

I confess that I was nodding off at points in the episode so I may have missed crucial details, but it was left rather opaque why those two scumbags that Cas' daughter hooked up with kept sharing sinister looks as she was talking about Dean.

Did I miss something? Were those two just super-eager to beat someone to death based on the claims of a young girl they had only recently met? What was their goal in this situation, kill Dean in broad daylight at a park, in full view of passing joggers?

If you missed it, so did I. Their motivations made no sense to me at all.

I didn't get that either; I had assumed they were demons in disguise but they never went all black-eyed or anything. So, they were just really evil fuck-ups? I wonder if they'll get back to that.

The only news I got from the convention today was that Sheriff Jodi will probably not reappear this season; the actress has not been called back and they're just about done filming. Kim Rhodes was an awesome speaker, by the way. She had the crowd on their feet.

The actor who plays Chuck, Rob Benedict, (yes, he IS God) was a riot & great performer (he has a great band) but said he knew very little of how his character would reappear; he just knows he WILL at some point. He thinks Chuck is just a "meat-suit" that God likes to tool around in.

Tomorrow is Mark Pelligrino (Lucifer), Mark A. Sheppard (Crowley) and Misha (Castiel). It should be a fun day.

Thanks for the responses, Vendikarr and auntiehill. I was expecting black eyes, too.

Also, thanks for the convention info, auntiehill. Interesting tidbits being doled out, for sure.

I thought that the couple were demons but since their eyes didn't go black I'm guessing that they were just your stereotypical psycho Bonnie and Clyde types.

I think those two idiots were intended to be some misguided misfits trying to genuinely help Claire take revenge who found out the hard way that they were way in over their heads by attacking Dean.

I also don't think they just met her, she is a street kid and probably knows other street kids everywhere and they try to stick together.

That said, they clearly had a bit too much fun ambushing Dean (up until he kicked their asses).

I don't think they will be back.

Great day at the convention--Mark Pelligrino and Sebastian Roche opened; Mark was quiet and serious--answering questions very thoroughly. Sebastian is like Daffy Duck on cocaine! Singing opera, dancing, switching languages, never answering a question without getting sidetracked on some bizarre rant. Later in the day: Mark Sheppard and Misha Collins. The crowd went INSANE.

Mark did the panel as if he really was Crowley--which was hilarious. He wandered around the crowd, making snarky comments. It was very funny. Only once or twice did he break character, like telling how, just the night before, he'd been filming in Vancouver and what it was like getting through the airports and to Houston in time for the convention. He said that the TSA agents recognized him and as he went through the metal detector, one waved him through. "Make way for the King of Hell!"
Misha's time on stage was crazy; the fans went berserk! Apparently, he'd asked his fans to donate feminine hygiene products for the Salvation Army and he had them bring them up on stage. There were so many that he had them build a fort out of it; it was at least 4 feet tall. He'd said to leave it on stage so Jensen and Jared could see it tomorrow. Neither Misha or Mark would give away any spoilers--but Mark did say, when asked how Crowley let his mother fool him,"So, is that what you think? You think he doesn't know exactly what she's up to?"
It was a great day, but exhausting.

Tomorrow is Tamoh, Jensen & Jared. That will be most definitely insane, for certain.

I didn't think this one was horrible, but it definitely wasn't one of their best.
I am curious exactly what Crowley's mother is up to.
Yeah, I was a little confused by why the couple was so eager to beat up Dean. I kept expecting them to be revealed as demons or to have something else going on, but apparently they was nothing else to them.

I seem to be in the minority, but I rather like Claire. Not so much her character by itself, but Castiel feeling guilty about Jimmy and awkwardly attempting to help her is interesting. I want to see where this goes.

As for Crowley, his characterization doesn't make any sense to me, but I want to see how the situation with his mother resolves before I judge.

Last day at the con. Tamoh, who was very nice and polite, said that they filmed Jared's scenes as Gadreel before his, so he had only about an30 minutes to look at them before filming his first scene.

Jensen and Jared came on--they brought their dads as "Dean and Sam of the future!"-- and were very pleasant and funny. Someone asked if they ever accidentally called each other by their characters' names; they said no, but Jensen said all of crew--grips, makeup, even the producers-- call him Dean every day. Apparently, in season 1, in "Provenance," Dean calls Sam "Jared" and it made it to AIR! No one noticed!

Someone asked them if they had any regrets about this season, and Jensen said he wished that the Deanmon storyline had gone on for a few more episodes, but apparently there is an arc they are working towards, so his "recovery" got moved up. But there were some real fights among the writing staff about it.

^ Thank for the con report. Sounds like fun. I wish I could be as enthusiastic about the show...

It has turned into a meandering soap opera. I genuinely had trouble paying attention during the last episode. Crowley's mother is annoying and her intrigue isn't interesting. Cas wanting to be a good dad has gone nowhere and outworn its welcome. S&D finally have some sort of quest, but are going about it in a very vague and half-assed way, with no sense of urgency. Nothing seems to be going anywhere.

I don't mind Claire (reminds me of Zoe from Eureka) but her arc is going nowhere.

Oh, that is such a bullshit excuse. They moved up his recovery to focus on their arc? What arc!? There is no arc. They could have easily cut the Butler and Kate the Werewolf episodes and given us more Deanmon. Although I'm glad to hear that at least some of the writing staff had our backs.

Yeah, I'm kinda wondering what "arc" they were talking about. I'm hoping there's something coming that is awesome because, um, it really needs to be if that is the excuse.

I'm glad that Jensen said it; he really wanted the storyline to continue and so did a lot of the fans there. It at least makes me hopeful that there is some sort of grand plan to this season, because it's come off as completely haphazard.

OK...I found Dean pummeling Bad-Kirk Charlie (and the resulting injuries and weeping of Good-Kirk Charlie) to be somewhat disturbing.

And they broke her arm....again. OY. At first I thought this story was a bit lame but the ending was great--like I said, fairly disturbing. I really felt for Dean, and Charlie, on that one.

I enjoyed this one. I liked getting to learn more about Charlie. The good/evil Charlie stuff was cool. I don't mind the stuff with Dean and the Mark, but I hope we get some closure on it at the end of this season. We already got the whole storyline with the Mark affecting Dean last season, leading up to him becoming Deanmon, I'd rather not see this stuff get dragged out for a whole other season.

Holy crap! Was that Mrs. Patmore playing the Witch? It was! That alone made me laugh. She's getting typecast now as the cook?

Best line: There's no grass in the infield!

Oh right. Joanna from Once Upon a Time.

I liked this episode. It would've been nice if the witch turned out to be Gretel herself. And she had ties to Rowena.

I knew I'd seen her before! She was in an episode of Blackadder as Mrs Pants. Not a fan of indoor plumbling.

Too bad about Tina, I really liked her and thought she'd have made a good potential love interest for Dean.

That actress playing young Tina has a lot of presence; her delivery did sound like an older person. Fun touch with the Taylor Swift at the end.
