Spoilers "Superman & Lois" Season 1 spoiler discussion!

Yeah, why is it always Superman who is evil? Why not Batman? That makes way more sense to me

Because Batman is just a guy with combat skills and high-tech gizmos. Evil Batman is just Deathstroke. Evil Superman is a nightmare, because he has such overwhelming power. He's the greatest hero in the world, but it would take so little for him to be the most terrifying villain in the world.

Although in the case of some creators, I think it's more a case of just being cynical and wanting to deconstruct the idea of Superman's heroism. Siegel & Shuster created Superman as a critique of the Nietzschean view of the ubermensch as "beyond good and evil" and not bound by conventional human morals; they wanted to show that superior power could be paired with superior morality rather than amorality. But there are creators who are more sympathetic to the Nietzschean (or Randian) view of things.

I'm so glad I'm not watching this show. Completely missing the point of a character really isn't an "interesting idea". At this rate I can't wait to see Eradicator introduced as a Kryptonian hating werewolf, or Cyborg Superman showing up as a normal human who loves Superman. Maybe Connor Kent will show up but he'll be a powerless clone of Lois Lane and Lena Luthor, or they'll introduce Krypto but he's a powerless hamster.

All kinds of things "interesting" things can happen when the people in charge actively hate Superman and the world around him.

Been a while but it’s time for...YYAAWWNN!

Speaking of Evil but I have a feeling the Evil Superman we have seen from Iron's universe was maybe a good Superman also but somehow changed. That is why he thinks our Superman will also go evil. My prediction also is the thing that turned that Superman evil is connected to what Morgan Edge is doing because maybe the Morgan Edge of that world did the same thing but that Supes never moved back to Smallville with his family so he wasn't stopped. What I don't understand is why would he use a Captain Luthor as a cover or why the General Lane of that other universe also knew him as a Luthor. Also his daughter is obviously still alive and will show up soon in the main universe.

This is where I "brag" about editing the novelization of the Shaq movie back in the day. I swear to God, it seemed like a good idea at the time. :)

YMMV, but I actually thought that the underlying story wasn't bad. I mean it wasn't great, but honestly it's not the worst we've had.

Most of its issues were -- like Batman and Robin IMO -- a flaw of execution, either in due to budget, technological limitations, or just the fact that as while Shaquille O'Neal has many skills... honestly I wouldn't rate acting all that high on the list.

While I wouldn't necessarily mind, I would be point out that Shaq is only a decade older than Wole Parks and doesn't look particularly old for his age, so that might be a bit of a stretch.

I will go to my grave insisting that, of the two DC movies that came out that year, STEEL was more enjoyable than BATMAN & ROBIN.

Mind you, I haven't seen either movie in more than twenty years . . . . :)

His older brother or cousin, then. Or he could be the young John Henry's father in flashbacks.

They could dip into the animated side and cast Phil LaMarr or Michael Dorn. ;)

Or Zeno Robinson, Khary Payton, or Cress Williams. Hmm, maybe not that last one. ;)

LaMarr already appeared in Supergirl as J'onn's brother Ma'alefa'ak, so I don't know if they'd reuse him. (He also voices Rag Doll on The Flash, but that's not an on-camera role.)

As for watching the series online, in Canada, CTV Sci-Fi has rights, so I'm guessing it's on ctv.ca and thence to Crave.

If they do bring in Shaq as his dad we need a scene were they are playing basketball and we find out our new Irons can make his free throws. Especially since that is basically the only scene I remember from that movie. Also something about Judd Nelson corrupting kids or something.

yep - currently watching it from ctv.ca after the tivo didn't record it for some reason.

Lots of talk about David Ramsey and his appearances in other related shows post Arrow but nothing about his directing but noticed he was listed as directory for this week's ep.
(unless some-one mentioned this already and I missed it).
Here is a good interview with David Ramsey. It’s probably the most detailed yet about his directing and playing Diggle across the different series.

I am curious how his appearances will be affected by the scheduling delays. Whether they need to be viewed in the order they were filmed. Seems something big happens on the Flash. https://ew.com/tv/arrowverse-david-ramsey-green-lantern-superman-legends/ It’s a good read and he has good explanation as to why John Diggle would be reluctant to take the offer of being a Green Lantern without thinking it over for awhile. He had just got his wife back after Lyla had Ben under the control of the Anti. Monitor and they both have their daughter back who was erased in Flashpoint. But the story is just starting.,,

Comparing and preferring one piece of garbage over another is not much of an endorsement .;)

For the sake of your sanity, please keep adding years between you and those horrible movies. :)
