There are rumors that Dean and Teri really were involved at some point during the making of the show. She was married for most of its run, so who knows if its true or not. If it was they did not want it getting out. There is a segment of L&C fandom who are stilling hoping they end up together in real life.

I do not agree with the criticism Cain got as Superman. The idea the show had was that Clark was his real personality. So as Superman he was aloof and unconformable with the attention he got. He wanted to do good but not be a celebrity. It reminded me how many actors are uncomfortable when they have to do interviews and public appearances. But are completely different when performing. Hence the idea of him being a working man with powers. Like real life heroes, cops and soliders, who down play the praise they get by saying they were just doing their job.

A post-credits scene has been announced, and it's intended to set up the spin-off movie "Girl of Steel"!

According to Variety, Superman's cousin Kara Zor-El (aka Supergirl) will make a post-credits cameo appearance at the end of "Man of Steel", forshadowing the announcement of a new Supergirl movie which will tie into the same universe.

Allegedly set to go into production later this year, the Supergirl movie, tentatively titled "Girl of Steel" will be an origin story for the lost daughter of Krypton, finishing up with her appearance on Earth as seen in the sequence set to be included at the end of "Man of Steel".

I was about to say the only way a "Girl of Steel" movie works is if Superman at least shows up for a cameo sometime during the movie, until the end of your post lol.

The first year of Lois & Clark was my second-favorite TV version of Superman - childhood attachment to George Reeves's portrayal is too hard to overcome, but otherwise no other version has come close to Cain and Hatcher.

It would have been impossible to do a modern prime time Superman TV series with any sophistication or adult appeal at all prior to Byrne's reboot. Superman-is-Clark-in-disguise is the only way that Supes makes any plausible psychological sense at all when you think about it. I know Tarantino has a different idea, but I think he's too fond of the 1978 movie.

Screenwriter, David S. Goyer, reveals to Entertainment Weekly that the children of Krypton (Superman's home planet) are engineered. "People were bred to be warriors or scientists or what-have-you, and there's a whole element in the movie about nature versus nurture," Goyer says. Kal-El is unique because he's a natural conception, free from genetic manipulation to choose his own course in life - which also makes his existence highly illegal.

Another major revelation from the article is that Superman's main bugaboo, kryponite, will not be making an appearance in Man of Steel. "I'll be honest with you, there's no kryptonite in the movie," says director Zack Snyder.

I kinda like the idea of the engineered Kryptonians, and the fact that even among his own people Superman would be considered a bit of an outsider for being born "natural."

It also sets up the possibility that he maybe isn't quite as powerful and advanced as Zod and Faora, and has to rely more on his wits and instincts to defeat them.

^As others have pointed out, yes. Those muscle/shoulders are all Cavill. There may be some lining in the suit to help define the "six pack" and some of the veining on the muscles. But the rest of it is his physique.

I'm really looking forward to this. Besides Star Trek this is the one movie I really want to see.

I am adding Pacific Rim to that list but these are the three movies I really want to see. Sumerman and Star Trek are tied for my number one most anticipated movie.

I wonder if he'll have any of his vision based powers? Macro/micro I could see, but I think it would be in line with this version if he didn't have heat or x-ray vision.

I'm expecting to see heat vision. I think Cavil teased shaving at comic con last summer IIRC, I think when he was asked a question about Clark's beard in the film.
