I don't know anyone that counts the JLA TV movie (was that ever actually shown on TV? or released anywhere?) as any appearance of anyone or anything in any legitimate manner, to be honest.....
Justice League of America has never been aired in the U.S.[9] However, it has been shown on television in the UK (Channel 5),[10] Puerto Rico's WAPA-TV (Channel 4), Thailand (Cinemax), Brazil (Sistema Brasileiro de Televisão), Uruguay, Poland (TVN, TVN 7, TV4), Mexico (TV Azteca), South Africa (e.tv), Germany, India and Israel.[11] Bootleg copies have been distributed through conventions, websites and file sharing networks.[12][13]
Even if you want to argue Smallville doesn't really count because MM stayed as a human except for brief moments (which I don't agree with), the JLA TV movie had him in full martian form in most of his (somewhat short) screen time, and showed his shapeshifting powers. It definitely counted. The Supergirl TV show has had some firsts, but Martian Manhunter isn't one of them.

Only 11? Seemed like a lot more.(Checking, he was only in 11 episodes of Smallville, and IIRC a couple of those were glorified cameos.)
Cheap Halloween costumes is a more apt description. As for the JLA movie? A shitty movie made 20+ years ago? Please. I mean, weren't they all basically in Halloween costumes?
Don't waste your money.I may have to pick-up a bootleg of that at my local Comic-Con this year and hate-watch this thing.
Indeed. I only know about because I've read articles on it and seen clips and... Yikes! It almost seems like a fan-production. And it's being used as "evidence" MM was on TV before via an obese David Ogden Stiers? And it never aired in the U.S.?
I may have to pick-up a bootleg of that at my local Comic-Con this year and hate-watch this thing. But, yeah, it certainly doesn't "count" as a use of MM given it's abysmal quality and not airing in the US (which I either didn't know or forgot.)
I don't like Mean Supergirl.
I think that was a very interesting choice to add that dynamic into the storyline. She's going to have to deal with the consequences, at least for a little bit. And poor J'onn...
Well, I count it. It was a terrible TV movie, which had super weird reality TV style interviews with the characters stuck in periodically, but they did suit up and use their powers to fight bad guys. As someone who has seen superhero movies not even do that, I can't say JLA doesn't count or is the worst thing ever. Its not good at all, but honestly its still better than the Supergirl movie, and people still count that as Supergirl's first live action appearance![]()
The JLA movie never actually being released also should count for something.
heck if you wanted to do something silly, have MM say he was showboating as a cop back in his early days in some small town. I met this farmboy with skills. wink wink.![]()
It was never released in America, but it was released in several countries, like the UK. So, its not like Corman's Fantastic Four where its only around because it got leaked, you could at one point see the JLA TV movie on TV, so it counts.
^ Legends of the Superheroes was broadcast in America, so....its part of Supergirl/Flash/Arrow canon.![]()
