Strange New Worlds Season 2 Trailer

Once again, Starfleet picking officers for legal proceedings that have no business being there. The prosecutor is in a relationship with the accused Commanding officer! There are Jag officers whose job this actually is. Plus Patel is a Starship Captain, does she even have legal training? I know, rule of drama trumps all.
Your honor, there is precedence for this in Trek with the cases "Court Martial", "The Measure of a Man" and "Rules of Engagement" were in one of the attorneys had a personal relationship with either the accused or another member of the ship's crew.

Also, in The Menagerie Kirk, Mendez and Pike all serve as tribunal members, despite two having very close relationship with Spock.

I like the dress uniform callbacks to TOS because of course I do.

"What was she hiding?" and then the credits. You know that Spock's about to deliver a smack between the eyes to the people who've put Una on trial, right?
Those who saw and recall the Short Trek episode involving their first meeting on the 1701 know pretty much what Spock will say in response to that question. :)

How exactly would charges of “sedition” be valid?

The word has a definitive meaning, and I'm guessing/hoping that maybe a lawyer was consulted for the script. But Number One was serving the state. She did everything to conceal her nature. So how is it even conceivable that she was inciting rebellion against the established order of the Federation?

"Space Command representatives." Ohhh, yeah. TOS lingo. That's my jam.
IIRC Space Command is only mentioned in TOS Court Martial

STONE: This court is now in session. I have appointed as members of this court Space Command Representative Lindstrom, Starship Captains Krasnovsky and Chandra. Captain Kirk, I direct your attention to the fact that you have a right to ask for substitute officers if you feel that any of these named harbour any prejudiced attitudes to your case.

Possibly by encouraging others to be augmented like herself, or that appearance was given in a report.

Starfleet clearly has a giant cultural hangup over augmentation thanks to Earth history. The Denobulans and other species clearly don't have similar hangups but Earth is such a heavy hitter in forming Federation and Starfleet laws and policy that I'm not surprised and that other member species went along to a degree just to make Earth happy.

It's been a while. Maybe after I finish my SNW rewatch I will rewatch that episode too (or I can do it anytime. It's not that long).

I'm least-interested in the crossover episode that features Lower Decks characters. But, admittedly it will be interesting to see my favorite modern Trek series paired up with my least favorite.

did the ready room get bigger?

Nice Phoenix pic!

Not sure where to drop this but they just put out a new clip. I kinda hate the dress uniforms…at least the stuff on the shoulders.

To La'an Noonian Singh, you've got a very unique last name. Do you have any relation to Khan Noonian Singh?

So Khan Noonian Singh is pretty well-known. Awkward for Spock and Kirk in Space Seed, given their intimate connections to La'an.

Perhaps it conveniently gets classified again, like Disco S2.

Now my biggest question. Will Jack Quaid be covered in blood or any other nasty liquid in this episode?

So, they should identify him by sight alone? Everyone knew who he was but visual records were fragmentary, and no record of Khan leaving was shown. Khan simply identifies as Khan, nothing else.

What more could they know?

A genetically engineered superman named Khan...who has been cryogenically frozen for centuries. It's not a major leap.
