Straight from Moffat: 2010 is Series 11.1

I shall call it "Brian".

Brian 1
Brian 2
Brian 3
Brian the 4th (just for a bit of variety)
Brian 5
Brian 6
Dorothy
Brian 8
Brian 9
Brian 10
Brian 11
Brian 12
Brian Last

An easy to understand and very nearly logical system, I'm sure you'll agree.

I shall call it the flubber series, because the new costume reminds me of the professor from the flubber movies, the old black and white ones.

So Dr who the flubber years season 5.

Moffat was talking this evening at the International Screenwriters' Festival in Cheltenham and was asked why next year's Series was being called Series 1 and his reply was that the Marketing people wanted it changed and told him it could either be Series 1 or Series 31 and he picked 1. And then the next time he talked to them it had become Series 11.1

But he added that really it'll always just be "the new series" and people should call it whatever they want.

I don't even get the limit to those choices? Why not 5. Although my choice would've been 31 for sure.

Mr Awe

I was thinking of it as 11.1 already.

Having a series 5 in year 6 is just as confusing. Besides if Torchwood season 3 can just have 5 episodes, why can't 5 specials be the fifth series?

Obviously we're already seeing some radical changes. When RTD was in charge, no one would have even entertained the thought of starting a thread with the word "straight". ;)

Haha! That's a good one! Because RTD's gay, isn't he? Very amusing!

To be honest, I was expecting it to be series 5. I didn't think Moffat/Smith was going to be the radical departure it's being made out to be. After all, Moffat's written a lot for the show already. Though calling it 11.1, does that mean we'll get another Doctor who won't stay for more than 10 seasons?

Anyone remember in Season 4.2 when the Doctor fought the Krynoid?? Although, that doesn't hold a stitch to 3.5's return of everyone's favorite gay civil servant Alpha Centauri.

By the way do you guys prefer Lola McGovern to Biddy?

:)

Doctor Who has been on for 50 years. I mean they make documentaries on a *story* basis. I actually do like 11.1 numerology instead of talking about Davison's Season 27.

No Doctor has ever stayed for more than 7 years, and I can see no reason for wanting one to hang around for 10 never mind more.

Countdown to Jim Steele's head exploding...

;)

We should call it 'Beyond the Sun', since they've always been trying to use it :)

And to follow on from Wamdue (apologies for the small size)...
