Stories You Would have Enjoyed Seeing

I would've loved to have seen a Holiday Special, where the whole thing was "Just for Fun." Maybe have singing, dancing, variety acts, skits and the like. The show could've even been shown "Live," as well. That would've kept things interesting ...

Heck, I'll pile on. I wish they had done away with the entire Xindi War thing and replaced it with the Romulan War. They could have done exactly the same plot line with the post 9-11 subtext and had the badges be the Romulans. It would have even been more meaningful because the moral of the story would have been that xenophobia was the wrong path and cooperation with the Vulcans, Andorians, and Tellarites was the only way to have long term stability and peace instead of "cowboy Human ship goes into the Expanse alone and saves the universe on his own".

To be fair, they did go for the "xenophobia is bad" message by having the crew turn (most of) the Xindi into allies in the end. Degra was an Oppenheimer, not a Hitler. But that was undercut by making the Insects and Reptiles the bad guys.

Yeah, but I don't think the metaphor they should have gone for in 2004 was "Some of Al Qaeda Is Good". I think the better metaphor would have been to ally with the Vulcans, Andorians, and Tellarites to represent the civilized world standing together united to defeat violence.

the whole point of creating the test fictionally was expose on kirks character so i dont know watching archer execute is any fun : however there is a great book where the TOS crew is on a shuttle and tell each other thier solutions brilliant book. i always wanted one were the vulcans admit they believe in time travel they just decided the most logical way to avoid the temporal cold warwas just to have a hostoric record of categorically denying like they mind trick thier way out of the whole silly mess. also like just a scene in tng where picard admits he was reaponsible for killing kirk .dont think archer and tpol had a thing i dont know why a man and woman can not be involved in a deep relationship thats non romantic without every one pushing romance into it : i think the actors portray it as an unlikely found admiration for each other. i would like to see an episode where past borg and future borg create a temporal rift when they try to assimilate each other. or better yet love to see a captains dinner hosted by Q. one where harry kim loses it takes the bridge crew hostage and demands promotion would be nice too or just a fight scene where he confronts paris about being peomoted twice

i was thinking it would be cool to see a mirror mirror epsiode but instead of pirate kind of them one where the augments were starfleet kind of an augment space seed episode where kahn wakes up kirk from hybernation .

I think The Crossing (the one with body-swapping wraiths) would also fall into this category.

I would have liked to see the establishment of diplomatic relations with the occupants of the Expanse. A sort of Marshall Plan in space.

After what we saw in Detained, I was hoping the Suliban diaspora would be explored further. And would the enhanced Suliban degrade after they had lost contact with Future Guy?

Also, the Romulan war. The fact that they're not supposed to meet face-to-face sets up intriguing possibilities for long-range weapons, guerilla attacks and even terrorism.
really upset the enterprise arc made up whole new storyline nemesisrather than going into a longer better arc in war with the klingons or the war with romulans especially since war with the klingons and romulans prevail through out both universes and effect the characters of so many of the different series but its the same thing with the tng tosha yar daughter story arc

oh sorry remebered why i cam back tho this thread before i got distracted by a reapinse (typical 1+1 = oh look a squirrel) not really an episode : but .... i was reading the good sitcom thread : i would love a spin off with just q and his family kind of a light hearted adventure or almost family style sitcom where they just play through the star trek universe screwing with different species

I know he wasn't a diplomat, he was an astronaut. Still, you would think since his prime mission was making first contact they would have picked someone with leadership skills who didn't act like a bumbling tourist rubbing up against the natives.

It's not like he had any other skills other than ship captaincy, when did he ever save the day through science or engineering or helmsmanship or.. he saved it by accident with his mouth, after removing his foot, and as the seasons went on he got better and saved it by design. Or being a bully when it was needed.

While a definite arc of Archer Learns to Diplomacy I think they made a mistake making him so stupid in the start. It's just a bit unbelievable that they didn't pick someone renown for their dealings with Vulcans, someone who wasn't "whaaaaaaaaaaaat?" when confronted with a Klingon on earth.

You could find someone today who could do this job, be a diplomat and command a starship. Though really they painted a lot of them pretty stupid in Broken Bow, all the peeps yelling at Soval (or maybe that was just Archer). Maybe the culture in the military and on earth was kind of dim.
i think part of the reason to choose him nis his dislike of vulcans : only commander perry could go to japan only nixon could go to china : i dont think he comes across as dim but nieve and ambitous :it was a huge effort to get into space exploration and archer felt that the vulcans had stolen seeing the enterprise from his father : i love captain archers character arch he is one of the best characters written in any of the series

Instead of ending things with "These are the Voyages" I would have liked to have seen an epic Temporal Cold War story which would allow the Enterprise crew to interact with characters from all of the other series. It would have been extremely difficult to pull off, I know, but if they were wanted to write "a love letter to the fans" and say goodbye to the modern era of Trek, I think it would have been a fun way to go.

I'd've liked seeing the mirror universe "miniseries" thing continue. Showing the Romulan War would've been cool. The idea that T'Pol was half-Romulan is something I've always found interesting.

Yes, unlike Saavik (whose half-Romulan status is of course non-canonical), T'Pol being 'mixed' would be relevant to the plot and might bring out interesting ideas, e.g. I imagine Vulcans would have to deal with increased anti-pointy ear prejudice, and, perhaps more interestingly, Vulcan society might suffer internal schisms as various individuals and institutions are suspected of being tainted by Romulan influence.

He was briefly mentioned in season 4's "Home":

T'POL: A Starfleet posting is no less important than one with the High Command. I'm sure Father would have approved.
T'LES: Your father believed that our work should enrich Vulcan society.

I recall reading that T'Pol's father was to be revealed as a Romulan agent in season 5.

No wonder the poor girl ended up a Trellium-D addict. Dad was an enemy spy and Mom was a religious extremist.

Yes, so T'Pol's father was a xenophobe. Are we supposed to believe that that was how the average Vulcan felt at the time?
