Here's the thing. We don't really know whether crowdfunding was the issue with CBS. The real issue could be misuse of the funds raised and/or the fact AP was essentially promoting Axanar as a "professional" feature to rival official productions. And he was blatantly using CBS' IP as a means to profit rather than simply producing his fan project like the vast majority of other fan productions.
Note the only other production asked to halt their production was Horizon who was also embarking on producing a feature. And we don't know whether they were asked to stop because they were about to produce a feature or to spare them getting entangled in the Axanar mess. And we haven't yet heard of any other productions--notably the series like ones--being asked to suspend their works. That might indeed have happened, but if so it's hard to believe no word of that has gotten out.
I would not presume to debate you.I think Continues or Phase II should do a TOS series finale where Enterprise pulls into Spacedock, Spock returns to Vulcan, McCoy retires and Kirk gets promoted, then at least it's done.
Then if they're able to, go back and make more episodes set in between.
I'm afraid my trademark optimism has waned considerably.
No, I don't buy the issue of writing as the source of STC's troubles. I think they are indeed catching flak from Axanar's bullshit. Every single episode from STC has been well received and they win awards and accolades. They have comported themselves above reproach in terms of how the money they raise is used.
No, this grief is not of their own doing.
No problems. It's all good and friendly. My apologies if I have typed anything untoward.

Another oven mitt? I've got a closet full of those!"You're our eighth customer today! You've won a free oven mitt!"

It could just be that people are growing weary of these fan productions coming for money again and again.
