STC: To Boldly Indiegogo

I've really liked STC but I was singularly unimpressed with "White Iris" and the Civil War one.
Divided we Stand was blown a bit for me because a few days before it released The Outer Limits episode of Gettysburg was on. Two Civil war reenactors, one from the North, one from the south (one was a medic) were sent back in time to the battle of Gettysburg. So I had a touch of deja vu

I know the teaser was a donor perk, but candidly in this day and age a trailer like that should have been released widely. I can't think of any better way to generate interest then giving people something to ogle and talk about. The teaser sets up a mystery and ends on a genuine WTF moment. That could have really juiced speculation, discussion and anticipation.
Even if backers and Fedcon visitors will get to see it this Friday already, the official episode premiere is still a few weeks away. It may get released yet closer to the date?

As much as I relish getting to see the episode at the tail end of next week it will be irksome not being able to discuss the episode openly with other like minded fans such as around here until the episode is more widely released for everyone else.

That's true. At least I will have my friends with me at the convention and we can discuss to our heart's delight afterwards. I'm just glad I won't get the link earlier than the official showing, it would have been hard to resist otherwise.

You don't have any friends that are also backers and with whom you could discuss in a more private way via e-mail? Send me a PM if you are desperate ;) (I'll only be back home Tuesday evening though)

I have one or two other friends locally to talk with about it, but that is assuming they get around to seeing it. They're not as into it as I am. I also have a few people I can chat with through email as well as some folks here on the TBBS as well as some other sites.

Yeah ,"Gettysburg" had a great story, but I have to say, the location shooting in Divided was pretty impressive when held up against it.

Although now my excuse for "giving you a hug because you need one right now" for next weekend has now vanished ;) Ah well, I'll give him one anyway!

Celebratory hug!

Just wanted to report back that I did give him the hug indeed, and while I was close to him whispered "I want to give you a hug because I know the past months have not been good for you" (I had planned to say "difficult" or "not nice" but that's what came out) and he whispered back "Thank you!" and then held me tight and we posed for the photographer who was patiently waiting (the line was not very long)

I know this is not the Vic fangirl thread but if you or anyone else is interested in some pictures, let me know. I got quite a few funny poses, he willingly did everything I suggested while chuckling to himself. I even got a lift ;) My weekend was then made complete by a personal song played at the piano in the hotel lobby. I couldn't have asked for more.

Excuse me while I float away on cloud 9.

To be somewhat on topic at least - I don't think this counts as a secret. He stated quite firmly that this has been the last fundraiser when I asked whether there will be more.

Maybe they found a reliable backer to finish the "plan"?
