STC: To Boldly Indiegogo

So their Indiegogo campaign is now active online and their target is $350,000.

No mention of stretch goals.

I don't see that on their page.

I see STC (rightfully, IMHO) apparently decided to throw some shade at a certain organization that has taken some shots at them:

Our producers have never drawn a salary, and they never will. In fact, executive producer Vic Mignogna personally funded the first episode and has put nearly $150,000 of his own money into the series. Co-executive producer Steven Dengler has contributed over $100,000. Our co-producers donate their time -- some working hard every day of the year on various aspects of the show -- simply because of a deep love for Star Trek and for our STC family!

We seek no return other than the joy of paying tribute to TOS -- both in the creation of these episodes, and in the privilege of sharing them with beloved fans.

Trek Continues Inc. has an application pending for 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, which can be viewed here. Additional information may be found on our website.

^^ Oh, now I see. I hadn't scrolled down that far.

Another $100,000 for just one more episode? Wow! It definitely has gotten more expensive. And it still doesn't get them to 13 episodes as was once mention. Unless perhaps they're filming the last one as a two-parter.

On Facebook they've pledged to make as many episodes as get funded, so if anyone's feeling rich and/or generous, now's the time to push them past the 13 episodes. They're doing this for 60 days. :)

They're definitely doing a two-part finale. And I guess part of that amount is for renting and maintaining the building longer than they may plan to.

So are they going ahead and doing the 'series finale' now, and any episode they get to make after that slots in prior to that point?

I heard in an interview with Vic that each episode costs about $80k to produce. The initial 350k will cover the remainder of Episode 7 and 3 additional episodes plus facility costs. . A stretch goal of 100k more to produce an additional episode plus rent is pretty reasonable. There's no mention of the planet set, I wonder if its complete and they're holding it back as a surprise?

After all these years of having the show left open ended and left with the idea there were countless stories left untold I admit I'm a bit ambivalent about a series finale for TOS.

I know that might sound weird, but there it is.

I kicked in my donation to get the perk for the scripts of episodes 4-6, to go with my existing collection.

So, have they indicated what will happen to the sets when they're finished?

The Planet set was already funded but you are right it has not been mentioned lately.

Wouldn't surprise me if it showed up in episode 7. They just wrapped shooting on that one a couple weeks ago, so it's possible they could have finished up the planet beforehand.

Edit: Based on their most recent Facebook comments, I now believe the planet set has yet to be constructed. It is funded, though.

Based on their past postings, I will assume once its under construction we will get some updates with photos and postings like the engine room and additions to the bridge set? (at least I hope so)

On a side note just wondering what fans think of the rewards offered in the lndiegogo fund raiser?
