This is true, but the "notability" of that particular ship comes from a genocidal captain who completely abandoned his principals and Starfleet protocol in almost every measurable way.
I'm a very ends-justify-the-means person myself, but Ransom turned it up to 11 waaaay too fast, even for me.

I agree, I don't like that they named the class after it, but that was the naming scheme they locked themselves into.
Perhaps the fact that Captain Ransom somewhat redeemed himself at the end gave Janeway just enough wiggle room to fudge her report.
Sacrificing himself at the end was probably enough for Star Fleet to condemn his actions but justify the ships ignoble end as heroic.
It was, after all dragged to the Delta Quadrant against its Captain's will.
Well, in Starfleet history the Phoenix was Cochrane's ship so it's notability will extend beyond Maxwell's revenge fueled attack run on Cardassians.

Where's the other shuttlebays??
What other shuttlebays? There's only one in the rear of the 2H. The two doors underneath the fantail are cargo holds.

Hmm... I dunno then... Possible it's a dialogue error, or whomever said it mis-spoke. I don't think there's more than one bay there.
First they said "shuttle 3", then "shuttlebay 3", so maybe they confused themselves in that regard. Still, the cargo bays & shuttlebays can be numbered sequentially and the shuttle bay is 3.
Just a strange way to reference it.
there was a Shuttlebay 2 mentioned in Episode 2.
Was there? How did I miss that?
What came out of shuttlebay 2? For all I know, they're dropping smaller shuttles out the bottom like the NX class.
Back in the day, I used to imagine the two hatches on the forward, bottom part of the primary hull were small shuttlebays.
