Starfleet Ring

Hey.

I have an old 14K "Starfleet Academy" ring. Price of gold being what it is right now (closing in on $1800 an ounce), and given the fact that I never wear rings, I'm giving some serious consideration to selling it.

Anybody ever see one of these, or have any idea what it would sell for?

Based on the comparable rings showing on eBay, you're looking at about 9.99, if you're lucky. May as well hold onto it for now.

I took it to a jeweler, said I could get maybe $460 for the gold, but to buy the same ring made today would cost $2500.

I guess I'm not going to sell it, at least not right away, unless I get some offer a lot closer to that second figure.
