Yeah, that would probably the easiest way to do it. Hopefully they would find a way to craft a story around the appearance that meaningfully interweaves the character into the premise of the show instead of just being a quick cameo for our characters to gawk at.

Maybe an episode where in a moment of crisis Lura Thok visits the holodeck to seek his advice. It shall be a valentine to the fans.

I believe they aren't watching. It accounts for why the ratings are getting lower. Its a shame really. I really wish they would have replaced Kurtzman and his team. They've had their time. Good news is this might torpedo the year one show. I couldn't imagine this team doing 4 years of kirks adventures.
