Imagine what the world would be like if people chose to just... not watch or pay attention to shows they didn't like instead of making it everyone else's problem.

Imagine...

That's what the world will look like soon as people start embracing my hugging philosophy. :)

Okay, having seen the first episode only it's... fine. Paul Giamatti plays a great villain, Robert Picardo's Doctor is doing more than just nostalgia fan bait, a nerdy Klingon who wants to be a doctor is something we genuinely haven't seen before, the characters seem likeable enough.

It's a perfectly cromulent Trek series and I'm curious to see where they go from here.

^ What’s perhaps most interesting about this is that he says he’d like to bring back Scott Bakula as Archer for the 60th anniversary.

It’s not clear if he means as part of Starfleet Academy or as a new project.

EDIT: Although, watching the accompanying video interview that piece of info comes from I realize that we already had someone post that a few days ago. Seems like the article made a bigger deal out of it than it actually was. The interviewer specifically asked about bringing back the character and Kurtzman responds that he loves the actor and that he would gladly do it. So not necessarily a peak into what they actually plan to do. ;)

I could see them
having Scott come back to film a hologram of older President or Admiral Archer for an Academy holoprogram
, which would be pretty damn cool all by itself.
Yeah, that would probably the easiest way to do it. Hopefully they would find a way to craft a story around the appearance that meaningfully interweaves the character into the premise of the show instead of just being a quick cameo for our characters to gawk at.

Maybe an episode where in a moment of crisis Lura Thok visits the holodeck to seek his advice. It shall be a valentine to the fans.
