Or mix it up with having some cadets be older. Be good to have various walks of life as cadets.
It actually isThey're on the Voyager-A in Prodigy season 2, so TPTB are very aware of them.
This is actually what I think we will get. Some of the cadets seen in 'Kobayashi Maru' were noticeably older than the the ones we met in 'All is possible'. Maybe there are other people like Sahil out there, true believers who spent their entire lives living Federation values, only catch his they're in middle age and feel like they are past the point were they can contribute. Maybe one of the messages of the show will be that age shouldn't be a barrier to following your dreams.Or mix it up with having some cadets be older. Be good to have various walks of life as cadets.
I stand corrected! It actually isNova squad, which is why I brought it up![]()
I like Tilly & hope she is involved in this series.
But I think this show has alot riding on it. They want to attract a younger audience & focusing on a younger cast is an easy way to do that. But if it doesn't work, it could lead to the stop of other star trek shows being developed for awhile.
I'd be so down for that.Reboot as a younger, edgier version
I totally agree. This has been my opinion since the show was announced.I became a Trek fan while occupying the younger audience demographic. Were TOS, TNG, DS9 & VOY specifically targeting my then-age bracket? It didn't seem so.
The primary demographic watching Starfleet Academy - if it sees the light of day - is going to be the same primary demographic watching ever iteration of Trek: 30 - 40+ males.
I find the notion that there is an untapped younger audience chomping at the bit to hop on board Trek, but will remain sidelined until they see a young, hip cast the same age as them fronting a show ... a bit daft.
Not quite, but something young enough to draw them in and make them interested. Honestly, the ideal time for an Academy spinoff would have been after the success of 09. But, at least we are finally getting an Academy series.I find the notion that there is an untapped younger audience chomping at the bit to hop on board Trek, but will remain sidelined until they see a young, hip cast the same age as them fronting a show ... a bit daft.
I bet building a large practical set is cheaper in the long run then the cost of using the VR wall to simulate a giant space like the SNW engine room.OTOH, they've also built the largest Trek set ever.
