Star Wars: Why didn't we see any wreckage from the droids in Eps4 - 6?

Re: Star Wars: Why didn't we see any wreckage from the droids in Eps4

^ Who says the Empire still isn't using clones in the OT? There's also the possibility to consider that the Empire started holding recruiting drives. Just because there are "programmed" clones doesn't mean that regular troops can't be conditioned with Imperial propaganda and all that.
yea, i guess that would be cheaper.

was there ever a time when a jedi took down a droideka? obiwan and his master made great haste to get the hell out as soon as the droidekas rolled in in EP1.

Re: Star Wars: Why didn't we see any wreckage from the droids in Eps4

^What is your obsession with Droideka's? They're cool and all but not exactly worth asking a million questions about. There were a bunch of Droidekas at the start of the Battle of Genosis in Episode II IIRC. I'm sure there have been some destroyed by Jedi in the Clone Wars cartoon.

I don't get all the random little questions. It feels like you're trolling to me.

Re: Star Wars: Why didn't we see any wreckage from the droids in Eps4

Scavangers, like the Jawas, clearly had a field day. It's that simple. Scrap metal is always in demand.

Re: Star Wars: Why didn't we see any wreckage from the droids in Eps4

As I mentioned earlier there's a Droideka/Destroyer Droid Luke takes on in the novel Survivor's Quest.

As for the Clones vs. conscripts thing, one of the video games has a rebellion on Kamino, and as a result the Emperor shuts down at least the Jango clones.

oh, ok.

that's interesting.

i didn't see you already mention it.

is there anything more formidable than the droideka in 1v1 combat? of course i mean mobile units, not like a battle tank. how strong were those grevious bodyguards with cheapo lightsabres?

Re: Star Wars: Why didn't we see any wreckage from the droids in Eps4

First of all they weren't lightsabers they were energy projectile sticks. Secondly, why don't you just watch the entire saga and find out for yourself instead of asking these inane questions. Or you know you could look up Wookiepeida.

Re: Star Wars: Why didn't we see any wreckage from the droids in Eps4

Simple, the reality is that when 4-6 was made, he hadn't thought of the droids.

In the star trek universe, scrap metal does not go to waste. In a generation whatever ended up in junkyards would of been long gone.

Re: Star Wars: Why didn't we see any wreckage from the droids in Eps4

^ Yeah that answer has been given a couple times already, ReadyandWilling is just asking random questions to do with droids.

aha, Well one thing I noticed is that the prequels killed a lot of the Star Wars fandom (Those who are older then 12 that is), I encounter more BSG and B5 fans now then Star Wars fans...

Re: Star Wars: Why didn't we see any wreckage from the droids in Eps4

i wonder if luke's uncle owned any droideka's. wouldn't that have been cool in ep.4 to see a battle between the droideka's and the sandpeople!

Re: Star Wars: Why didn't we see any wreckage from the droids in Eps4

Uncle Owen purchased a run down model and used it to off his father...then had it dismantled and sold for spare parts. Lucas is going to show part of the Droideka in thieir hut during the dinner scene for the Blu-Rays.

Re: Star Wars: Why didn't we see any wreckage from the droids in Eps4

There's a Droideka MK II in the Empire At War expansion pack.

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Droideka_Mark_II

The Droideka is pretty much the only Battle Droid that was truely impressive in the films, and thankfully never really got a silly voice like the other droids did. The Super Battle Droid was kind of cool in AOTC but was utterly ruined in ROTS (Although Clone Wars at least fixed those voices).

oh, ok cool bro.

yah, it's a shame we didn't see more of the droidekas or some other droid that can handle itself up against a jedi.

Re: Star Wars: Why didn't we see any wreckage from the droids in Eps4

Droideka droideka droideka droideka droideka droideka

That's all I see in this thread.

Re: Star Wars: Why didn't we see any wreckage from the droids in Eps4

Part of the price of Vader's turning in ROTS was that Palps melt down every last battle-droid so that he would never have to hear 'Roger Roger' EVER AGAIN. It was the one point Palps couldn't find any wiggle room on, so he had to do it.

The novel Darth Vader Rise Of The Dark Lord has Palps telling the new subjects of the Empire that, due to the accelerated aging that has made the clones so battle-ready, they will as they die out be replaced by non-Clone Humans. Hence, the reason Han and so many went to the Imperial Academy. However, that same novel had some groups of Clone Troopers going WTF? at hearing Order 66, so even its limited canonicity may be in question.

The droids' wreckage that wasn't recycled at the time it was made probably got rapidly used up with the Imperial expansion and the resistance to it. The world we saw in 4-6 had the look of a recycled, used-up world, like the whole cosmos had become like Wattoo's shop.

oh, ok thanks.

that's interesting about the clones. i didn't think about the rapid aging, i just figured they were too expensive.
