Yeah, but can they manage that plus their other film contracts? Especially if they have specialty people who do Star Wars. Six or Seven more months isn't too much to ask for, plus it give Rogue One time to have its own hype rather than be buried under Episode VIII's hype just before it gets to theaters this December.
.
The early teaser of Rogue One isn't all that special...but there is just something about hearing Alec Guinness as Kenobi talking about the coming of the Dark Times, with a much more threatening version of the Imperial March starting up as you finally notice the huge Death Star dominating the sky.

"TFA re-release"? Is that actually happening? And if so, why? By that point, TFA will be out for home media, what would be the point in a theatrical re-release.I think it likely we will see the Rogue One teaser with Captain America and a full Rogue One trailer attached to a TFA re-release in theaters at the end of the Summer or Beginning of Fall at the start of the marketing blitz.
It has been whispered here and there supposedly. It certainly made more sense when VIII was due out next spring."TFA re-release"? Is that actually happening? And if so, why? By that point, TFA will be out for home media, what would be the point in a theatrical re-release.

I've heard something similar. Supposedly, the success of TFA is motivating Disney to want Rey, Finn and Poe to have a larger role in the movie than planned. Apparently, the original plan was to relegate them to support roles and have Episode 8 focus on new characters.Supposedly the reason for the delay is that they're rewriting the movie.
