Star Wars Rebels Season Two (spoilers)

The Lasat called the Force 'Ashla' which was a name given by Lucas for the lightside of the force in early drafts of the first movie.

In the old EU, it was the name of one of Tython's moons, and the name the ancient jedi gave the Lightside.

It was also one of the original names for Ahsoka.

I geeked out a little seeing the cruisers from KOTOR, and yet at the same time I'm thinking, "Really? They're still using ship designs that are THOUSANDS of years old?" It's pretty laughable how static technological advancement is in the Star Wars universe.

According to the Episode Trivia page on starwars.com they are new ships, but inspired by old designs.

I did not know any of this. :techman:

"As you know, the "FORCE OF OTHERS" has two halves: Ashla, the good, and Bogan, the paraforce or evil part. Fortunately, Skywalker came to know the good half and was able to resist the paraforce; but he realized that if he taught others the way of the Ashla, some, with less strength, might come to know Bogan, the dark side, and bring unthinkable suffering to the Universe."
- from the second draft of "The Star Wars", January 1975

Does show us the Mining Guide mentioned in the Empire Strikes back. Civilian or I suppose Corporate TIE Fighters.

And biological hyperdrives? That actually sounds interesting.

Well, at least now we know what giant space slugs eat...besides freighters and mynocks of course. ;)

I like how this show seems to be dipping into the deep lore of the Star Wars universe. The idea that someone in the distant past saw these things jump to hyperspace and found a way to follow them is a really neat idea. It also makes sense that they forgot about it aside from old spacer tales. The civilization is over twenty millennia old, the hyperdrive is to them what the wheel is to us and who the hell knows for a fact who made the first wheel and what inspired it?

I gather the mining guild is one of the leftovers from the old merchants guilds. One assumes they've been thoroughly de-fanged and all but nationalised by the Empire.

Given how few episodes they're producing I'm kind of surprised to see these kind of random stories being told late into Season 2 of the show. Who knows, maybe the space whales will tie into something down the road. It was better than the Lasat episode.

Those golden TIEs missing the front panel looked totally bad ass :ouch:

It is weird, DisneyXD Canada didn't air last weeks episode, but they did air this weeks episode. So there is an episode missing in my DVR

Think your DVR skipped because they definitely showed the less than stellar lasat episode.

It's possible that either your provider didn't have it marked as a new episode or for some reason the DVR marked it as not to be recorded - both things I've expirenced with Cogeco - not just for Rebels but other programs as well.

Wait, wait. Numa? That's the little girl from the Clone Wars that the clones Waxer and Boil found.

I doubt it'll be addressed but I wonder if Hera knows that those Republic pilots she watched as a child actually included Ahsoka? If I recall the TCW Ryloth episodes correctly, Plo Koon was on the ground with her father while Anakin & Ahsoka were leading the fighter squadrons.

^And she appears to be wearing an old clone trooper pauldron & gauntlet on her left arm.

When the ghost was nearing the imploded star cluster and the strings played it was epic.

Like something from a Star Trek episode or maybe a Christopher Nolan movie?

It made you AWE at exploring space

The whole scene, especially the score made me think of the The Fountain,
