I think it will be a mixed bag, given the variety of directors and writers that will be involved. Like any other project, it will require time to iron out all the wrinkles, and establish the tone of it.
Also, I'm still curious as to how Disney running things automatically equals that it is bad

Honestly I see more promotional similarities to TPM at this point in time than anything else.
And I didn't say that Disney's control is automatically a bad thing. And I think, I could wrong though but I thought TPM had at least four trailers within two months of the official release of the movie.
But, the rules have changed with regards to how trailers get released and how long theaters are willing to run them.
I'm not trying to pick on you,
DWF, I just am trying to understand your discomfort. I'll freely admit I was not that excited for TFA until the second teaser, and the merchandising hit. Then I felt a little bit like a little kid, reminding me of waiting for TPM to come out, mispronouncing Amidala, and things like that.
I think that Disney will manage Star Wars fine, and we'll get sick of it just like the Marvel movies did-except I think that will take a little longer than my Marvel fatigue
Regardless of Disney's other faults, it does appear that they are working towards consistency in the presentation of the new material, from books, comics, and films, and the rest.
As I said in another post, I think after October is done, the marketing will be turned up more. That's just my gut instinct.
