the final film in the nuTrilogy
Is "they're required to go away after three no matter how much $$$ they make" going to be this year's version of "JJ has promised millions of times it won't be a reboot"?
Once the Movie Hype Machine kicks in late next year, everyone will know there's a new Trek coming out and be frequently reminded of how good and successful the last one was. I'm not worried about the long wait negatively impacting the film's performence.
But the wait would be a lot easier for this fan if they would release those four nuTrek novels that were written and then cancelled two years ago.
Way to keep the momentum going on a franchise, Paramount. By the time the third movie is done we'll have aged almost a decade since the first flick.![]()
Some resistant fans should get used to the fact that Spock and Uhura's relationship will continue. Facing a T'Pring threat is a possibility. She treated him shabbily in TOS, why not reverse it. It was all but stated that the next film would continue and develop relationships.Way to jump to conclusions... maybe it was T'Pau or T'Pol... maybe it was the Romulan Commander... and even if the picture was of Nu!T'Pring, she was a great character with her own agenda. . .we don't know if she and Spock were bonded in the new universe, and she never WANTED Spock for himself in the old one, so why would that change?

T'Pau as the leader of the Vulcan people would be interesting. If its T'Pring, though. Her presence would mean what was suggested by cast and crew during the promotional interviews, that Spock and Uhura's relationship take on a larger role in the sequel, is being acted on. T'Pring could be a challenger to Spock's.. uhm, throne.
But would she talk in her silly accent from "Amok Time", or normally as she did in Enterprise's season 4 Vulcan arc? FANS WILL BE FURIOUS EITHER WAY!Way to jump to conclusions... maybe it was T'Pau or T'Pol... maybe it was the Romulan Commander... and even if the picture was of Nu!T'Pring, she was a great character with her own agenda. . .we don't know if she and Spock were bonded in the new universe, and she never WANTED Spock for himself in the old one, so why would that change?

EXCL: Michael Giacchino Will Return for Star Trek Sequel
Source: Silas Lesnick , Deadline
November 23, 2011
Though it comes as no surprise given his frequent teaming with director J.J. Abrams, fans should be pleased to learn that Academy Award winning composer Michael Giacchino will officially be returning for the as-of-yet-untitled Star Trek sequel.![]()
"Yes, I'll be back," Giacchino told ComingSoon.net last night at a home video release event for the duo's last collaboration, Super 8. "I'll be there just as soon as they finish it."
In the meantime, Giacchino will be providing the score for the Abrams-produced Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (arriving on IMAX screens December 16th and going wide on December 21st) and Andrew Stanton's live-action debut, John Carter (hitting theaters in 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D on March 9, 2012).
Though he provided the score for 2009's Star Trek, fans shouldn't necessarily expect more of the same. Giacchino points to the differences between his scores for Mission: Impossible 3 and Ghost Protocol as an example of how he likes to treat sequels like altogether new projects. That said, he's not sure at this stage what direction the Trek sequel will take.
"Right now I'm not looking at anything," he laughed of his overloaded scheduled this past year. "I'm just going to go into my closet and shut the door for months."

No.does everything have to be in 3-d [?]
To find the answer to that--to see whether it'll be used creatively and toward a specific end, or just as a visual gimmick--you'll have to wait and see, the same as everyone else will.I mean it's okay for some of the films to 3-d if it's called for by why do they have to make this new one 3-D [?]
Well.....................f*ck.
This is sad news.
