There's something very reassuring about certain comments that Abrams has made, along with certain things we've recently become aware will be in the film (ie, major sequences are DEFINITELY set at SFA, and are alleged to involve the Kobayashi Maru scenario).Starship Polaris said:

In fact, one will do - Abrams is in his forties and TNG is twenty years old.
"Life-long fan" and "obsessive consumer of every Trek episode and movie ever made" are overlapping rather than congruent sets.
