Never considered myself as a musical fan but I absolutely loved this episode. Though the musical numbers were done very well, I loved how much exposition and story we got on various characters, making this episode a must see for fans of SNW. My only downside to it was the heralding of Chapel leaving the series (hopefully NOT for good).

Wasn't the fellowship only for three months? They could easily vault that in the space of one episode. Season 3 premiere set immediately after season two finale, then ep two set three months later.

Potentially.

It's amazing how the same melody works so differently for I'm Ready and I'm the X.

Bush singing "A distant dream becoming REAL" doesn't have the same THUNK that Peck does when he sings "I can't believe how wrong I've BEEN" and his voice drops down into full Spock. They pitched it so perfectly.

And yes, it's SO much fun to sing.

You notice that Peck went Full Spock (for the most part) in "Hegemony?"

It is difficult, I agree. I can stay with everyone except Celia Rose Gooding, mainly when she moves up a step during the transition in the coda from "Keep Us Connected." At that point, I just have to take a backup harmony position because damn.

Those key changes can be deceptively hard to cover, even though it's just a half step or two.

Rewatching that final number again. When the rift is destroyed, because of the timing of their course/s and the whiteout of the explosion, it makes it almost look like the Klingon ships are destroyed. :klingon:

It's not super clear but you can see them being pushed "off stage" by the blast.

Funny that they were doing a little waltz with the Enterprise...

Wonder if the Klingons aboard were still singing?

Some of you are real optimists. I think the Christine-Spock romance is as dead as the human Korby.

The finale gave some hope.

Possibly. Or possibly they'll reconcile and become platonic friends without getting back together. Or maybe they'll become Star Trek's Jeff and Annie or Ross and Rachel, regularly getting together and breaking up. No idea where we go from here!

Well, we knew it couldn't last due to TOS. That's the problem with prequels: they're limited to future canon.

Are they, though? I mean, "Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow" strongly implied that history has wobbled. They have an in-universe plot device to rationalize it if they decide to take the Spock/Christine relationship in a different direction.

Sure. The issue isn't the length of time Christine will be gone for the fellowship -- the issue is how her treatment of Spock will impact their relationship, and whether or not she falls for Roger Korby.
