That old trope that goes something like: "If you want to know what your wife/girlfriend/SO will be like when she's older, take a hard look at her mother."

D'ya suppose that applies to Vulcan women as well? If so, Spock better watch out! But we already know that, don't we? ;)
Wow, Spock's last words to Stonn suddenly hit much harder: Stonn. She is yours. After a time, you may find that having is not so pleasing a thing after all as wanting. It is not logical, but it is often true.

What has Spock done that is immoral? It’s obvious that he was not acting on his feelings for Christine. Then he and T’Pring (mostly T’Pring) decided to put their relationship on hold. Only then did he act on them. I’m not sure what standard you’re holding him to here.
I'm little confused about the definition of "morality" here... Can someone elaborate please?

It is insincere to marry one woman when you are in love with a different women who you are almost on the verge of always making a baby with.

Frankly T'Pring should have headed Spock off at the pass, poisoning the well, by mounting Christine first, not that she had a usable window to get in there with.

How long did Spock wait?

3 minutes?

I don't think this was as entertaining as Spock Amock but I do think they've really done a good job modernizing Spock's "Am I human or Vulcan?" However, I also feel like they've made T'Pring a bit too much of a victim of what a crappy boyfriend Spock is. She's really made a huge effort to be accepting and meet Spock halfway (and then again) with Starfleet. The fact that Spock is clearly just not that into her and kind of leaving her hanging repeatedly is awful. Just dump the girl, Spock, as you'll both be happier. You're stringing her along in the classical sense.

I wonder... is the show going to imply or reveal that T'Pring will be under the influence of Sybok? His telepathy was focused on manipulating emotions. Maybe, at this stage (possibly before his search for God) he'll have more vindictive motivations and tries to actually get Spock killed.

Sybok was raised as a Prince?

If Sarek left his mother for Amanda, then I see Amadan as the monster who replaced his mum, who needs to be taken care of, rather than Spock raised as a putiful commoner, replacing him.

Can this tech be weaponized?

A final solution to the Romulan Question?

Chapel needed more to do. This version is largely based on Chapel from Obsession. It would have been nice if they'd had more scenes interacting more as equals in TOS but more than that she needed to interact with McCoy more on research (SNW goes a bit too far the other way making her the lead in research when she's not an officer) and being allowed to be more enquiring generally.

Much the same as Rand, pushing the relationship button too far or too fast can harm a character dynamic. I thought Janeway and Chakotay had chemistry and would have liked them to have done more with that other than one self-enclosed episode but Paris and Torres probably have the most realistic relationship in Trek. Keiko was too absent and too often used as an off-screen antagonist. But once you set a relationship off, then what? I guess we'll find out. They obviously have a game plan. Possibly one involving Sybok.

So did Spock and Chapel do the Vulcan Vertical or did they just make out..???:vulcan:
It is clear to me that they went horizontal. Poor Christine. You know you don't marry the man whose arms you long for. You marry who's available. It's cynical, but true. Roger, if he appears, will be the one who's available and willing to commit.

Something not well-addressed in Trek, but it is realistic to expect that by the mid 23rd Century, human lifespans should be about half-again as long as they are now, with the associated extended youth and vitality. Then again, WWIII would have had a detrimental effect on the species as well, so who knows.

In any case, Mia Kirschner looks too damn young as Amanda here- more like Spock's sister than his mom. I'm almost in favor of giving her some gray or silver highlights in her hair just to lend her a bit of gravitas in terms of her supposed age.
Christine is studying epigentics so, if you can change someone's appearance for an away mission you can erase signs of aging. It's the telomeres.

I should clarify that I was agreeing with his interpretation of T’Pring’s perspective, not agreeing that her perspective was wholly correct. She was focusing on her perception that he didn’t trust her and she was left out while all his friends knew what was going on, and yes, anyone would be upset about that. I can see how that would be a major issue for her, and also see how Spock wouldn’t want to dump that situation on her when she was already completely exhausted from dealing with her mother. Emotionally, it was a Kobayashi-Maru scenario and he did the best he could at that point. I think she’d be able to see that after she gets over the shock. But now there’s Chapel, so…

They kind of explained T’Pring’s family wanting the connection with Sarek, but I don’t recall any motivation for Sarek’s family to reciprocate that. There should be one, or it’s nothing but lazy writing to create pointless drama.
Yes, a little upset, yes but DITCHING your relationship for it is childish. T'Pring literally pushes him away. Mature people don't do this. Narcissitic spoiled little girls do this.
