They made dogs whine and kids cry. They really should turn them down and shorten them, just like they changed color contrasts several times in PIC S3.I gave it a low vote mainly because I could only get about 5 minutes into it. My son is sensitive to noises and the ringing in the ear sound was too much for him and he was on the other side of the house from me. He was in tears asking me to turn it off. So I guess I will not be able to see this one until he is back in school in August.
There was color? They made dogs whine and kids cry. They really should turn them down and shorten them, just like they changed color contrasts several times in PIC S3.
I know there are many ways in which my life could be worse, but reading the comments about how people couldn't even handle a few seconds of the simulated tinnitus in a tv show and as I type this listening to the same ear ringing in my ears I've had for 14 years straight now (and will until the day I die unless a cure is miraculously found), I'm sort of hoping stuff like this episode would bring greater awareness to how debilitating the condition is and hopefully push towards a cure. Seems unlikely though...They made dogs whine and kids cry. They really should turn them down and shorten them, just like they changed color contrasts several times in PIC S3.
But then there's nothing to bitch about and what's a Star Trek fan with nothing to bitch about? It's funny, every TV remote I've ever owned has this thing called the volume switch, and most have another button called 'mute'. Problem solved.![]()
My min-pin was laying on the couch next to me while I watched it with my Dolby sound system blaring. They made dogs whine and kids cry. They really should turn them down and shorten them, just like they changed color contrasts several times in PIC S3.
some people may think it's the viewer's task to constantly adjust settings while watching. I for one think it's the maker's task to not make us do that. It's funny, every TV remote I've ever owned has this thing called the volume switch, and most have another button called 'mute'. Heh, our cats had no reaction to the tinnitus sound in SNW, but there's an episode of Batman '66 featuring Joan Collins as a villain called the Siren, her high-pitched "siren" sound effect freaks them the heck out.My min-pin was laying on the couch next to me while I watched it with my Dolby sound system blaring.
He didn't even twitch.
Yet he can hear the mailperson come up on the front porch while sleeping in the kitchen at the opposite end of the apt.
Go figure.
No. But they can keep the remote handy for any untoward sound or change of volume. I do it routinely if I’m watching something when everyone else is asleep.Do they also come with something to let you know what sounds are upcoming before they start emanating from your speakers?
(Full disclosure: the sounds didn't actually bother me, and I don't have a dog. But the suggestion that someone should just somehow know in advance when to mute and unmute their TV doesn't really strike me as helpful for those who were bothered by it.)
Happy. But then there's nothing to bitch about and what's a Star Trek fan with nothing to bitch about?
Best of luck.I'm off to find Sasquatch.
Happy.
