Pretty good episode to start the season. I liked the tense moment of Spock having to give the order he thinks will kill Chapel. The only part I wasn't too fond of was the gritty fist fight sequence, that seemed off character for the show and for the characters involved.

As someone noted earlier in the thread, freezing in space that quickly is, I think, unrealistic because in a vacuum, there is no medium to easily have heat transmit through to escape the human body.

M'Benga and Chapel were in a hell of a lot more danger from being not very far from an exploding starship.

I suppose it could be a side effect of whatever they juiced themselves with?

The older I get, the angrier I get at TV and movie writers refusal to understand shockwaves and shrapnel. It started with the Joker blowing up that hospital in the Dark Knight...

I highly doubt it's a refusal to understand; it goes back to this as a dramatic presentation meant to elicit a reaction. So it has to be scary...or something.

I think that was the point. There is more to M'Benga and Chapel and their shared history than previously suspected. My guess is they were involved with some borderline ethical bio-research. Perhaps to make humans and other Federation combatants equal to Klingons.

Perhaps M'Benga became aware of the Augment virus through Klingons rather than other research.
