They moved Uhura to her natural TOS spot on the bridge. I'd guess these bridge stations are more universal than the TOS versions. Not quite LCARS/TNG level stuff.

Also, the Farragut is now definitely not a Connie, not that (I think) it was ever stated as one.

At this moment there is someone out there working on a deepfake replacement of Wesley with Shatner himself. You just know it.

Pike's breakfast is the perfect symbol for what happens to time when you mess with it.

Nice foreshadowing with Commander La'an's reveal of Una's imprisonment. Yup, she's going to be in the cooler for Season 2.

The Time Machine's Alexander Hartdegan couldn't save his fiancé with his time travel no matter how many times he tried. So how many times did Pike touch the crystal? "Every time we change the path, he dies." I like how Future Pike implies the Klingons were going to execute Present Pike if he didn't stay true to his path.

Story working title: "Tomorrow's Enterprise".

No instant demotion for the Sub-Commander? Just ejection from the game? Pity. I wanted to see the Commander seriously lose his patience with that asshole.

The Praetor is scary!

Hansen was the name of the character played by Leonard Nimoy in the original Twilight Zone story which shares this episode's title.

Love the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' version of Atari Asteroids!

It's probably for the best. It allows for the TOS Era Starfleet having a wider variety of starships. They kept the Okuda reference material registry number which was great, so at least that remains unchanged. And leaves open a slot to fill when it comes to naming all 12 TOS Era Connies.

Her uniform also had the anti-lick, scoopy-necked, vet dog collar.

The 2259 Era Romulan Warbirds are a perfect forerunner to the TNG Era ones. A lot smaller but still on par with the best Starfleet can offer. I can totally believe that's a ship that was in service 100 years before a D'deridex-class Warbird.

I think most people noticed that in the trailer along with her standard delta replacing the cadet version.

Basically Uhura is exactly where she should be in 2266 ;)

I don't understand why they didn't get James Frain to play the Romulan Commander tho.

This episode sort of confirms that the Federation is aware of cloaking technology, just that the Romulan cloak encountered in both TOS and SNW uses a form of light refraction and execution that is unfamiliar, requiring study to learn how to overcome it. Some fans love pointing to how TOS itself was inconsistent in referring to Romulan cloaking devices and to an extent it was, but this just reinforces that the 2266 raids along the Neutral Zone were the first time this particular technology had ever been seen by Federation science.

Star Trek: Picard also doesn't look like the alternate futures seen in "All Good Things," "The Visitor," or "Endgame."

If you want to pretend TOS always looked like SNW, that's fine. If you want to pretend TOS looks different due to changes in the timeline, that's fine. If you want to pretend SNW is a reboot, that's fine too.

Yep. The closest PIC gets to those alternate futures glimpsed in the Berman Era is the very similar 2399-2401 commbadge and the existence of holographic control interfaces referred to in "The Visitor(DS9)". Other than that it's not the same aesthetic.
