I think that the whole "Uhura came in under Kirk" belief grows out of the fact she wasn't in the second pilot (or the first, for that matter), the communications role being filled by Lloyd Haynes character, Alden. If Uhura were a crew member at either of those points, her absence warrants explanation.
was she ever a realistic dating option, though? As far as I remember she was interested in Spock but he never reciprocate.I think there has to be some kind of "break up" or something for Leila Kalomi to realistically be a dating option next season or so.
I guess we'll find out on Strange New Worlds! If the showrunners know about Roger Korby (and they confirmed they do), then they definitely know about Leila.was she ever a realistic dating option, though? As far as I remember she was interested in Spock but he never reciprocate.
Goldsman’s a fan from way back, like 60s and 70s way back. He knows.I guess we'll find out on Strange New Worlds! If the showrunners know about Roger Korby (and they confirmed they do), then they definitely know about Leila.
They don't. They hate TOS, obviously.I guess we'll find out on Strange New Worlds! If the showrunners know about Roger Korby (and they confirmed they do), then they definitely know about Leila.
the show runners have already confirmed roger koby will show up. not to mention he was chapel fiancé and the whole reason why she joined the enterprise was to search for him, which in SNW fits well because in SNW she is not a member of Starfleet. so i think they have set up chapel's arc well. the only main issue will be how far will they take her romantic relationship with spock where it will feel like too much of a retcon. They don't. That all sound quite lovely.the show runners have already confirmed roger koby will show up. not to mention he was chapel fiancé and the whole reason why she joined the enterprise was to search for him, which in SNW fits well because in SNW she is not a member of Starfleet. so i think they have set up chapel's arc well. the only main issue will be how far will they take her romantic relationship with spock where it will feel like too much of a retcon.
I think Spock at this point is curious like every man, who gets curious when a beautiful and decent young woman like chapel likes him and has made it clear, spock at a young age has every right to explore that , but that is the whole point of this type of stuff. it is explored and it ends and he movies on with Leia and chapel with roger.
that been said, I think it is a lot easier to ingore Leia, than Koby because Koby is a major plot point for chapel, whereas Leia was a stand alone plot point.
Or to use that word that came up with Spock and T'Pring... "Hi-jinks ensue."Waiting for that SNW episode where Spock is a room with Chapel, T'Pring and Leila.

Because if they triggered the wrong power source, the whole net would collapse in on them and they'd go boom, so Spock had to "guess" which high powered emitter was the correct one. It's kind of the equivalent of "it's either the red wire or the blue wire, one of them will stop the bomb, the other will cause detonation," but with asteroids.Oh, someone tell me if I missed something, but that moment where Spock had to go with his gut and choose one of two targets to fire at... was there any reason why he couldn't just shoot both? Two torpedoes in different directions or two phaser turrets? O shoot one and then the other? I was tired when I watched it and had to back it up once or twice.

Starfleet ships of this era only seem to be able to target one thing at a time (somebody correct me if I'm remembering wrong). So maybe shooting both asteroids simultaneously wasn't an option. But if they shot both in rapid succession, and the first one was the wrong one, maybe that chain reaction would happen so fast that shooting the correct one wouldn't stop it, no matter how quickly they did it.Oh, someone tell me if I missed something, but that moment where Spock had to go with his gut and choose one of two targets to fire at... was there any reason why he couldn't just shoot both? Upon rewatching, I got the feeling that it wouldn't have mattered which one Spock chose with the way that Angel was telling him just to choose one.Because if they triggered the wrong power source, the whole net would collapse in on them and they'd go boom, so Spock had to "guess" which high powered emitter was the correct one. In hindsight, I wonder if it could have been part of Angel's setup. We only had her word that the laser net "wasn't set by the Serene Squall." To what end, though? To delay the Enterprise from reaching the colonial ship or Serene Squall before they were ready? Or as a challenge/motivation for the Enterprise to keep going deeper into Non-Federation space?Upon rewatching, I got the feeling that it wouldn't have mattered which one Spock chose with the way that Angel was telling him just to choose one.
I’d pay extra to see that.

Joke. Sarcasm. Not to be taken seriously. This is absolute bullshit. You have zero evidence for that opinion.
