Did anyone else catch the Star Trek motif (G C' F' E' C' A D' G') when Una clicks the checkbox on the tablet? Nice easter egg!
So the TNG theme exist in-universe according to LDS (that's what Boims was humming, right?), and now the overall Trek theme is in-universe as well :D

Potential issue with the scorch...Is it on the forward section of the saucer? You know, the part that got blown the fuck up in Discovery Season 2? How is the oldest hull panel in that spot?
It's more like 2/3 on the way to the edge. That also hints at previous refits ;)

Anyone got a screen grab of the starchart? It should be around here.

You know... I don't know how to feel about that one. I'm going to say it was the "worst" of the episodes so far but only in a "something has to come in last" kind of way and will give it an 8.

Some aspects of it didn't click for me and kind of went past where I'm willing to suspend my disbelief, like there being a "medical" solution to the situation between Spock and T'Pring. (And, I mean, come on. Before switching back they could have had the sex first just to get that experience in.)

But still good and the realm of where I like Trek to look/feel compared to the other NuTrek shows just the weakest if the season so far. The other episodes have been home runs.

The first one I equate to the ball bouncing off the edge of the outfielder's glove and going over the wall, last week was knocked out of the park, this week, I dunno. A throwing error by the fielder allowing the runner to ryn the bases while the other side tries to get their ducks back in a row.

This was great. A lot of fun, and a lot of little trek moments. It's not easy to get a (mostly) light episode right, especially one with this many plots floating around, but for me it worked really well. It never went too far; they came up to the line really close a couple of times with the humor, but never crossed it.

I do kinda wish that modern Trek would be more open to the idea that different people have fun in their own way without needing to conform to how everyone else has fun (see also: Magic to Make the Sanest Man Go Mad), and this one felt like it was trying to see things from that point of view with Number One's plot, but still fell into the wrong side of that message. It was a least far less judgemental about it, which is great.

And that's me stretching to find something to critique, because everything else really worked. This was the show firing on all cylinders with its cast already, and in a Shore Leave episode no less! Lots of great character moments, and some interesting new diplomacy in the mix as well.

I can't believe the season is half over already.

I really could use a full 26 episodes of this show. I wouldn't be disappointed at all.

"Turnabout Intruder" revisited.
Except without the misogyny and conflicting messages! They put it to good use here, for both characters.

Is it me or was the game more like a scavenger hunt than it was a Bingo?
Clearly the word has become more broad in application by the time this show takes place. ;)

Just like the Twitter/YouTube/TikTok Challenge genre has morphed into something less fatal and performative with "FOOD REPLICATOR CHALLENGE" et al now that viral memetics for engagement is no longer a driving force in peoples' lives.

However, Bingo is essentially a positional scavenger hunt. It's also possible that the list she confiscated wasn't the proper board, just a checklist the Ensign was using to track progress. Not only that, but the font was already hell to read in list form. It would have been even worse in small boxes. It does feel like it's missing the point of Bingo being pattern-based and semi-random.

The actors must be thrilled beyond measure to be working inside these lavish and beautifully lit sets. The painstaking attention to detail is sublime. I mean, what should Vulcan furniture look like?

I love how the writers acknowledge Spock does indeed have a sense of humor. I can hear Nimoy saying, "I am redecorating. It is a work in progress," too.

That music. Oh that music...

Pike's embarrassment intruding on Spock's personal time is a wonder.

M'Benga is Henry Blake!

This is one of the most perfect bottle episodes I've ever watched. Shame there's no Hemmer. He's probably locked away in his quarters absorbing technical manuals.

A really fun, and funny, episode this week! As expected the Enterprise is undergoing repairs...

I enjoyed the Spock-T'Pring hijinks. Less so the Bingo, but it gave us a good time with those two characters. La'an was more enjoyable and relaxed.

Whoever wrote this one has watched TOS, clearly. Pike's green uniform was a welcome return. The Amok Time music in the intro was a nice touch. And I just... really enjoy hearing M'Benga giggle.

Yep. This one was a winner. Two in a row.
